I was at the hospital all day today with my mother who had to have an unexpected cardiac cath. She went for a stress test to clear her for knee replacement surgery and she flunked it. I had brought along my iPad to use my Kindle reader, and was surprised to find free WiFi for guest....and speedy too. It really helped to pass the time. Guess what is going to the hospital with me the day she has the knee surg:)

Indeed and Finland has a well run health care system. I can only imagine what it would be like if I was in some I'll equipped country.

make or break

I'm a research volunteer at a hospital in Boston, and wi-fi is totally banned in the hospital due to security concerns. You can't even set up a department wi-fi.

There are a lot of good surgeons/doctors in Boston. I will not choose to be in a hospital without wi-fi unless there is no other option. And since there are... I would be checking out surgeons/doctors in those places first.

And just consider the number of patients & staff with internet activated phones, iPads, laptops with mobile cards....

Not to say I would choose my doctor by where there is wi-fi... what I am intending to say is if there are doctors equally as capable, and units equally as capable for my condition, it's one at the wi-fi enabled hospital where I would be looking to go.... and for ER purposes... know you rhotspots because you don't know how long you'll be there.

Hope you feel better soon. Don't forget to get plenty of rest between gaming sessions :D

On a related note I wonder if there is anything iPad safe that you could use to disinfect your screen? Everything I've seen says no just use a microfiber cloth. Would be nice to have something to kill the germs with though. :)

I smashed three fingers yesterday, broke them, gushing blood. Before my mother drove me to the ER I grabbed my phone, iPad and chargers.you gotta go prepared :D
