iPad In The Wild?

I haven't seen any out in the wild yet. I've been bringing it into work but have been kinda hiding it cause everyone will want to get their grubby hands all over it.

Let 'em go to the Apple Store and play around with the demo units I say! haha
 
People literally flock when I have mine out in public.. I literally got excused from two entire school periods yesterday to give a demo of the iPad to my school's entire administrative office.
 
I'm sure you will start seeing them soon. Once you buy something, like a new car, it's funny how you notice there are so many of the same car out there. You'll see um.
 
I've brought mine to Starbucks a couple of times to do some light web browsing over coffee. It's quite amusing the amount of people gawking, even funnier though how many people ask "how much is that thing". I'm surprised how many people don't knkw the prices, or even much of anything other than that it does exist. It has sparked a to. Of conversation every time I've brought it out in public. I have not seen any others....yet!
 
I just saw my first one out in the wild.
I'm a conductor on the Long Island Rail Road and as I was walking through a packed train I saw one person with one. So I asked how he likes it. He said it is amazing. I'm trying to wait for the 2nd gen but it's really hard!!! I think I'm gonna cave in soon and pick one up. :)
 
I haven't seen any out in the wild yet. I imagine that until the 3G version comes out, most people will just be using it at home or in the office.

Nope but I got my case there.

I had no intention of being anywhere near an Apple store on launch day; just too crazy! I wasn't sold on the device anyway; needed to try one out somewhere. Then I read that Best Buy had a good stock of them so I went to the BB in Patchogue to try one out. (I knew there wouldn't be a crowd there.) 10 mins later I had a shiny iPad. :)
 
Work in mid-town but when walking about it's tucked in my bag. Whip it out (ok - that doesn't sound good) at Starbucks and work but so far - just me.
 
I have not seen any around, even in my school but I brought my ipad to class with me to take notes and I noticed a lot of people starring, made me quite uncomfortable hah.. but I'm just hoping no one asks to see and use it.. I'm very careful with my stuff and don't want anyones dirty hands on it.

In one of my classes I remember some kid asking to see someone elses macbook and they basically dropped it on their desk and took it for a long test drive, then again the macbook was all scratched up so I guess the guy didn't care..

That's pretty kewl! What did they think of it and what did they have to say after you did the presentation?
