It happens to my iPad and the Bluetooth keyboard is the culprit (Logi). It disables it quite frequently to my frustration.

Only work around that works for me is to switch off the iPad when I’m not using it. This prevents any inadvertent keystrokes.

Incase you haven't read the other responses, post 16 pointed out the bluetooth keyboard was the culprit 11 years ago..

In case you hadn’t realised, new iPads and new keyboards have newer technologies. This problem is persistent 11 yrs later and I offered what solution works for me as my keyboard cannot be switched off so thanks but no thanks for your input.

Yes and the problem/solution was given 11 years ago that still stands. You're free to post wherever/whatever you want I was just pointing out that the solution was given to the members having the problem hence the thread died. I guess your intention was to remind current members of the problem and solution incase they didn't want to search past threads to see if anyone has had this happen before. Being helpful with solutions to issues is why people are here and come here to find out so your input is appreciated

Anyone know about this?
If it's totally disabled and you cannot get into it, you can reset the iPad by holding down the power button and the Touch ID button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. When you see the Apple logo appear let go of the power button and keep pressing the Touch ID. You should see a request to connect your iPad to your computer. Go into Finder and locate the iPad and from there you should be able to restore it. You will lose all of your data on the iPad. Hopefully, you have a recent back-up to restore it. Good luck!

I have no idea how to do this on the iPads that don't have Touch ID. Probably pressing and holding down the power button and one of the volume buttons will work.

*btw, ignore the trolls in this topic. It's ok to ask a question even if google can produce an answer. From my experience google isn't always the best at answering questions.

You guys realize the original post was 11 years ago? LOL

I’m “guessing” the OP’s 15 minute lockout is long over. ?

The time gets longer and longer if you continue to enter an incorrect passcode.
I entered mine incorrectly so many times that it displayed:

iPad is disabled. Try again in 11 years

I‘m finally able to respond to this thread!
