Never gonna be a mini pro
The iPad Air seems to make more sense though pricewise?
air won't get pro featuresThat's why my next iPad will not be a new mini, but an Air M4.
But mini won't get any M-chip.air won't get pro features
I wouldn't buy a mini or air so don't careBut mini won't get any M-chip.
What in your opinion would make a mini with 'pro' better then M4?
Is love to see the demand comparison for each model according to sales vs the smaller non existing phones. Really wish this was granted to investors such as myself.Less demand resulting in niche prices.
To rebuttal this thinkingI think this perceived higher value of bigger (vs minimal actual manufacturing cost of bigger) is generally a major reason that small devices don’t get much attention or get axed completely. Part of it is many people want bigger devices but another part of it is companies are happy to sell more of the bigger devices to them for higher profit.
The problem here is very simply, it would cannibalize sales of the iPhone which is the cash cow.To all of you that state there'll never be a Mini Pro, I ask you to apply that logic to a half dozen Apple products/features in which we were told it'd never happen.
How would an iPad Mini Pro cannibalize iPhone sales? iPads don't have the radios to make regular phone calls, and most people aren't going to mess with workarounds, so they'll still need their iPhones. The problem here is very simply, it would cannibalize sales of the iPhone which is the cash cow.
The same way you dont see OSX on the iPad, it would cannibalize sales of laptops.
I would love to see a mini pro but the closest we will get to one is the future foldable iPhone and it will carry a hefty price premium.
The only phone that an iPad mini pro could cannibalize is an iPhone fold, and that one would cost even more ($2000 and up). Maybe it's best for Apple to keep the iPad mini a mid range device even if the fold is still years away. How would an iPad Mini Pro cannibalize iPhone sales? iPads don't have the radios to make regular phone calls, and most people aren't going to mess with workarounds, so they'll still need their iPhones.
Also cannibalizing is only bad for a company if there is loss in revenue, but an iPad Mini Pro would cost about as much as an iPhone, maybe more.
So either way, fear of iPhone cannibalization is almost certainly not the reason.
The only high end mini Android tablet is from a company that does not make foldable phones, Lenovo.
Yeah I would not consider flip phones tablets. I also prefer iPads, but I am found some unique hardware features in some Android tablets that make them complementary to iPads (for a multi-tablet person...)Technically, there’s the Razr but that one unfolds into a normal-size phone rather than a mini tablet.
Still, I prefer iOS to Android so I’m glad Apple is still updating the iPad mini.

And just last week I got myself an iPlay 50 mini pro (Helio G99) NFE 4G, basically the previous version, used for $60 but in mint condition and great battery life. I have to say I have been using it more than my iPad mini... I also considered the Legion Tab Y700 but it's too expensive for what I would use it for...I hear ya. I recently got a $125 Alldocube iPlay60 mini Turbo (SD 6 Gen 1) for emulation. Emulation on iOS kinda sucks.
I considered the Lenovo Y700 (SD 8+ Gen 1) for like 3x the price but retro games support isn’t a big leap over the iPlay60 so I ended up going for the cheaper tablet.
The 2024/25 release of the Y700 has a notably faster chipset but they ditched the microSD card slot which is a must-have for me for roms.![]()
