iPad mini iPad mini (7): what color are you getting?

I’m leaning towards starlight as it’s the lightest and neutral color.
The blue looks nice, too. It has a very cool icy look to it

However, I really iffy about the green folio that goes along with starlight! I kind of like it, and hate it at the same time. It’s not a versatile color for wallapers. Starlight is the only color that won’t get a matching folio this time. Apple could’ve made a beautiful stone colored folio to compliment starlight.

It almost makes me want to go all blue, but the blue folio is a bit too baby blue for my liking.

id love to hear what you’re going with, both iPad and accessories!

I must be color blind today. That blue looks mint green to me...and purple looks pink.

I wish the colours were more vibrant! They seemed to have learned their lesson between the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16, making the regular phone colours more vibrant again, but then they backslide into boring pastels again with the tablet?

Purple. Blue (if it is in fact that almost green color) also looks really nice.

That being said I'm going to try to wait for holiday sales and if the color I want isn't on sale I'll just get whatever is cheapest. They all look nice.

I’ll probably wait for sales as well.

$949 for 512GB cellular without a physical SIM slot makes this less of an insta-buy for me. I can use the Mini 7 (with Verizon) as my daily driver but I’ll keep my cellular Mini 6 for travel.

My 6th Generation mini (which I'm definitely keeping around once I get a 7th Generation model) is Starlight; I only got it because both silver and that kind of blue color didn't exist before. I might change it up and do blue this go around. It'll be a bit before I pull any kind of trigger. I usually buy my minis with cellular and I usually wait for new Apple products (especially ones as critical to my arsenal as a cellular iPad mini) to have been on the market so that any obvious generational issues have a chance to emerge (and hopefully get addressed by Apple) before I'm stuck with them. Doing the same thing with the iPhone 16 before I move from my iPhone 13.

Apple has become the master of colors that (a) don’t look like how they’re named and (b) look wildly different depending on lighting.

Unlike the glass-protected backs of the iPhone, the iPad back necessarily looks metallic in bright colors (like the iPhone edges), and Apple probably thinks that would look cheap or tacky with saturated colors.

Ordered a blue, from Bestbuy. Use mine 100% portrait mode for reading, crossing my fingers the jelly scrolling has been fixed.

I’m going with the blue along with the Orange Electric Smart Folio from the iPad mini 6.
It’s strange how the blue in the images on Apple’s website looks more like mint, but in reality, the blue on the iPad Air M2 is deeper and more of a true blue.

Thank you for that! Was able to YouTube search the colors for the airs to get an idea. I kind of like the sage in videos now. I’m still uncertain about if I wanna get starlight with sage or blue with blue, lol. The sage is definitely the most durable against discoloration because it’s in between green and yellow… if you’ve ever owned a white folio you’ll know what I mean.

I'd buy a blue, but not Apple's turquoise blue.

I have a starlight in a black case. I'll upgrade to a new starlight, and put it in a neon orange case, I think that will change things up enough for me.
