so I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was turn on my iPad. I checked the news, emails, and few websites before I even got up. :D

Anyone else lazy like me and keep the iPad next to your bed?

Lol I did the same. I wasn't about to turn on and wait for my mbp to boot. But usually i just do it on my iPhone. Just was much more pleasant on the iPad

I keep mine right next to my bed too. It's convenient to grab that and the iPhone in the morning and go. It's also great to wake up to and look at emails and browse the web. Perfct place for it.

Same here, except for the fact that I woke up with my iPad in my arms, not next to my bed.

Yep and also we just got hit with another earthquake lol 4.1 and 6.9 in baja, Mexico so i bet it came from there..

I have the dock and I bought the Weather HD app. First thing I was able to check the weather, so I could clean up and get dressed; then I checked the news and listened to some tunes.

Agreed! I usually just quick check things on my iPhone but it was so much nicer on the iPad!!

I wanted to sleep with mine but decided against it... I did dream about it all night though!! ;)

I keep my 13" MBP and my iPad on my nightstand. I tend to used to check e-mails and such with the MBP before I got my iPad.. no more though.

I sorta have a dual-screen bed setup though. I still check mail on my MBP and run Netflix or YouTube on my iPad.. and keep my iPhone around for Twitter.

So last night I played with my iPad until I was ready to go to bed....and then realized, hey, unlike my MBP or my MBA, this thing would be fine in bed, too, as there were no vents to worry about or overheating to worry about. Played with it some more and then was finally ready to settle down for sleep. I tucked my iPad in on her dock which I had stuck on my workstation/nightstand while unpacking everything earlier in the day..... My initial plan had been for the iPad to live on her dock in the living room, but that plan sure went out the window fast! This morning, got up, walked to the bathroom, smiling at my gorgeous iPad as I passed her, and when I came back, grabbed her and we spent a happy several hours as I continued to check out features and functions. Never got out of bed until after noon, although I was definitely awake since about 8:30 AM! LOL!

My MBA is already pouting as it is seeing the handwriting on the wall. In the past I've always used the MBA at night and then gotten in bed and read a book for a while. In the morning, I'd get up and depending upon the day, would either fire up the MBA or skip it and just move on out to the living room to my other machines. Last night and this morning were entirely different experiences! Methinks the MBA will be used significantly less often than it has been......

I LOVE being able to lie in bed with the iPad! No worries about overheating or vents being blocked, no awkward positioning because of the form factor of a laptop vs the iPad..... WOW!!!! I can already see how the iPad is going to change some ways I've done things and will open up new opportunities to use this device in ways I hadn't imagined before.

Because last night's arrangement of the dock was an unexpected, impromptu setup today I took the time to dig out the extension cord that had come with the MBA and connected it to the dock and power adapter for the iPad. Now I'll have more flexibility in positioning the iPad dock and the iPad itself, since, well, I guess she'll be spending her nights in the bedroom with me instead of out here in the living room the way I'd originally planned.....

When you read your post, I was looking at all the "she" and her"; I got a little worried about what the world had gone to; then I realized your sex and I'm very much relieved. :p

Yeah, I can really see the iPad eating into a lot of MBA sales.

Not that I really care. To me, the MBA has only been a demonstration of Apple's skills in making excellent hardware. It has never been practical.
