**** like this is illegal in New Zealand (Luckily). Once store staff walks outside his store's legal boundries he becomes a normal citizen and has no legal rights (in this matter). All they can do is calmly ask them to leave or ring the police if they think they are loitering. Security can't do jack (unless you've stolen something).

Some of the responses in favor of Microsoft's actions seem odd.

1- Mr. Troll buys an iPad, then decides to go have some fun with his new toy by demonstrating it in front of a Microsoft Store.

2- After an indeterminate period, a Microsoft Store Employee chases him away from near the front of the store.

I feel that MS made the bigger mistake. Mr. Troll would have best been ignored. His video would have been totally obscure.

Instead of letting Mr. Troll make a fool of himself, MS decided to take over for him and make a fool of themselves!

"Right or Wrong"....was this staged by Mr. Troll in order to provoke MS? Or was he just being inconsiderate towards MS? Probably staged. But it doesn't matter. Either way, nobody would have paid attention to his video if MS didn't take the bait!

Apple has no control over the actions of its customers.

Microsoft DOES have control over the actions of their employees and representatives.

The greater fault here is with Microsoft. Another PR disaster!

Unless Apple paid Mr. Troll to go shake things up, they're totally in the clear as are any unrelated Apple fans.

Have Fun,
And no gratuitously annoying the poor Microsoft Redshirts MORE THAN NECESSARY, OK?
Keri:)

PS. Someone stated that Microsoft is a company that actually creates new things. Maybe it's just me but I can't think of anything they've made that is "new".... only copied, stolen or bought from someone else.

Whether Microsoft was within its rights to kick them out (or have them kicked out) is beside the point. It was dumb.

See now, if I had been working there as an MS Store employee I would have taken the opportunity to bring out whatever the latest Windows tablet these days is and showed off the cool things IT could do.

But I guess being rational and smart in a situation like that would be too much to expect.

None of you are casting suspicion over his claims? Really? Why does he neglect to film the most important part?

Oh, because he was lying.

He made no claims of any sort, aside from mentioning he was asked to leave.

Actually, he made no bones about the fact that he was out to market and demo the iPad. There's no lying, apart from the question of the elderly gentleman being planted or coincidental, which is really beside the point, because most people's reaction to first seeing the iPad is exactly that same reaction anyway!
