The big problem with Face ID on tablets is the need to either move the tablet to login to things when the iPad is already situated on your lap or somewhere else, or contort your body/head to get it to where the tablet can see it. Touch ID is just far more convenient in those cases. For a phone and Face ID it’s easy to simply move the phone so it can see your face.

and also when you are standing with the ipad on the desk (on a keyboard or not) and want to switch the screen on, for instance to set a timer or launch something else... or when you are on a laptop with the ipad on the side and the camera off-angle... I have had quite a few situations where face-id has annoyed me... I find touch id more convenient overall

Yes, you are right. I finally confirmed directly from the device, it is an iPad Pro 2018, 11".
Honestly, I do not even remember buying that model.

Anyway, all that to say, no need for me to rush and buy the latest release. For the sake of a camera (that I rarely ever use) on an iPad, not worth it.

Thanks all...
Have to say this was pretty hilarious 😂
Its got to the point where people don’t know what the hell iPad model they have, all they know is that they are happy with it and I guess THAT is Apple’s main aim here.

I came from an iPad Air 2 to 2020 iPad Pro 11”, so I knew I was definitely due an upgrade as my poor Air 2 was really struggling with its battery.

Honestly, I feel as if I have had this iPad for ages and ages. Hence, why I was certain I was missing out on something - LOL
