This year can be next week , September, October don't know . Most problably next week .

My point is, In Post #17, you stated an iPad Pro would launch next week. Now your saying September through October. (Which I originally indicated it would.) You said your predictions are usually right, that's a fairly broad prediction.

You also didn't answer the question on how does Air 2 correlate to an iPad Pro.

IPad Air 2 was dropped from the line up because its a 3 year old Ipad . So, it does make sense to remove IPad Air 2. Ipad 2017 is a low cost Ipad . IPad Pro (both models) are the fastest ipad to date. So they needed to release an budget Ipad . As they didn't release an new iPad Pro in march , the IPad Pro couldn't be the low cost Ipad, so they released the iPad 2017.

IPad Pro 12.9 is 1.5 years old . Its time to get an update. IPad Pro 9.7 was released in March 2016. 1.5 after the IPad Air 2 launch. Then, IPad Air 2 became the 9.7 inch low cost Ipad.

So, if you follow that pattern , an new IPad Pro 12.9 will come at WWDC. (Exactly 1.5 after the original IPad Pro release). My prediction are usually right , however, Apple always surprise us.

Over a year and a half later, the 12.9 iPad Pro remains the only iPad with 4GB RAM. While some of that additional RAM is needed for the higher resolution display, the cross-over point is about 3GB. Anything above that gives the 12.9 Pro an advantage over the 2GB 9.7 iPads.

IMO, RAM is the best indicator of longevity... based on that, the 12.9 Pro still has plenty of life remaining.
Having used an iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPad 3, iPad 4 and iPad Air all of which have 1GB RAM on iOS 7, 8 and 9, I respectfully disagree. It's overall system performance that counts and that's a combination of CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, display resolution and networking performance.

More than the RAM amount, the real benefit of the extra RAM in the 12.9 Pro is that it's dual-channel 4GB (2x2GB) compared to just single channel 2GB on the 9.7 Pro so greater memory bandwidth.

That said, from A6 and newer, performance versus age (using the latest iOS version) has improved.

If Apple releases new iPad Pro 2 and STILL sell orginal iPad Pro for cheap then iOS 11 shouldn't slow them down. I am sure Apple knows better not to sell 2 year old iPP if iOS 11 is too much for them
