I bought one a few days ago, it was yellow without True Tone. I also felt like it was just too thin. Yep, I had a bent iPhone 6. Was not about to repeat my expensive mistake. So I sent it back the next day.

Got myself a first gen and I'm very happy with it. I just wanted a bigger screen for shows, this definitely saved me about $850 .

I get some people like thin and no bezel but dongles. I like my headphone jack. For $1200 + about $50 in dongles? Pass.

Plus I will always like Touch ID.
That's awfully disappointing to hear...

lol, you ain’t going to bend it using it for shows unless you have super powers :)

My 2 complaints are you can’t use apple ear plugs with out buying a adapter, and the anker one which is All I can find here is ridiculous like $80. AirPods don’t suit me.

And FID is not as good as on iPhone pro, damn camera where it is gets covered by the hand easily, not a bad idea but I would of got 2nd gen 12.9 I think.

I think for only $350 for a mint first gen with unlocked cellular and 128GB storage, I made the right call.

I can't use Apple headphones. When I'm on my bed, I'm using over the ear kind but not fully enclosed. My ears are sensitive to what kind of buds I use as well. I had a lot of ear infections growing up. So I'm oddly specific about that.

As for it bending, do you remember the Air? When I would put minor pressure on the Pro screen it did the same kind of rippling. For $1200, that made me very nervous.

I think the next gen will be better and I'll try my hand at upgrading again eventually. This just didn't feel right to me. The screen rippled like the iPad Air. I really didn't want to mess with accessibility and color filters on a $1200 device either.

Some people might be happy with this third gen but to me it was like an iPhone 6 and an iPad Air in quality. I had a bent 6 and lots of rainbow ripples on the Air.

Ha ha the old air2 screen distortion and speaker vibration, worst iPad i ever had. Can't say for the 12.9 but the 11 i have is nothing like that, if you push really hard you get a bit but that's not normal to do.
As far as the screen settings i believe 100% you will never buy a apple product now that will suit your liking out of the box, that's why they added them, remember when you couldn't change anything lol.

I have Bose 700 but would like to be able to just use my iPhone ear plugs sometimes mainly in bed, i can only use the right one so have cut the left off lol, it falls out and is why its not worth buying AirPods for me.

I bought my iPad Pro 11“ 1TB last week and I absolutely LOVE it! This is my main device that I use when I’m home being that my laptop was killed by MacOS Catalina (it was a 7 year old MacBook Pro, so it was bound to kick it eventually). I had my iPad Pro 10.5” at the time my laptop stopped working (which I believe was sometime last Fall? Whenever Catalina was released, that’s when it stopped) and I started using that more and realized that I could do fine with an iPad. I ultimately decided on getting the iPad Pro 11” because I needed something with much more storage for longevity and also I love how this iPad looks compared to the 10.5”. I definitely do not regret my purchase - I got the keyboard folio case with it and it really does wonders for when I need to type anything or even watch Netflix/Hulu. It’s definitely one of my best purchases this year. I can’t wait to see what else I can do with this iPad!

I’ve had my iPad Pro 11” with 1TB since launch day. I love the Keyboard case with the magnets. That bump on previous cases used to drive me nuts.

Like my other devices, it’s got it’s place in the workflow.
Apple Watch for simple reminders and quick glance notifications.

I use my iPhone 11 Pro the most of course because of the accessibility.

I use my iPad primarily for the portability. Taking notes, drawings and layouts, emails, simple documents and spreadsheets, photo edits, internet surfing. And in my downtime, reading ebooks, magazines, watching movies, I use it a lot.

My MacBook gets used for the heavy loads, Final Cut Pro, heavier documents and spreadsheets, backing up my IOS devices.

Each has there use, and all have important roles.

Someone somewhere in one of the Forms had said how nice it would be if they put the Face ID at the top of the if it was in landscape with ASK then your left hand would not cover the Camera and Face ID up i only use the IPP In portrait mode 3% of the time maybe even less I completely agree to everything they said it would be awesome may be on this next generation they will move the Face ID system to a better place on it i mean they are trying to make the IPP more like a Computer right hehe

This but replace the 11 with the 12.9. I’ve had both, sold the 11 and got the 12.9. Best.iPad.Ever

I honestly wanted to start this thread to ask people their thoughts from where the 2018 IPP was When it launched. To how they use it and how it’s changed for them over the last year. I personally have had the first two generations of the 12.9 but it never really left the house, then on Gen 3 it goes with me everywhere not only because of cellular but also because it’s more portable. I feel like I have everything at my fingertips, I use it for media consumption, Photoshop and it’s other apps picture editing, just recently started using video editing with iMovie and LumaFusion which I used to do on a 15 inch MacBook Pro back in 2015 and have since then used it on my iPad Pro series, I Also play all of my Apple arcade games on it. also having an iPhone 11 use continuity many times over between that and my Apple Watch. I know everybody’s different. And I’d love to let everybody give their own personal experiences and opinions I think we can all enjoy to read. Thank you everybody for your participation and hope for many more years of the Apple iPad Pro series and happy new year to you all. I forgot to say that I also have the second and first generation Apple Pencil that I use to doodle and help all of the above I’m not an artist.
I have pretty much used my iPad the same way since I got my first iPad 3 in 2012. For teaching in the classroom and for light productivity / media consumption / gaming in my free time.

Naturally, processes and workflows have gotten a lot more mature in the years since then. Apps have gotten a lot more complex and fully-featured (which in turn allows me to do more with them), the Apple TV now supports peer-to-peer airplay (gone are the days of me bringing around a portable router), iOS has gotten a lot more features in the meanwhile (multitasking, PIP, drag and drop, files, support for mice and external storage), the hardware is more mature (smart keyboard, Apple Pencil, better specs). But the core of what it is - a giant touchscreen, remains the same and that's just what I love about it.

I am not yet at a stage where I can do everything I need to on my iPad, but I can say the iPad is where I enjoy doing the work I do on it, and here's to a good many more years of the iPad. :D

IPP 12.9 (2018) best Ipad I have owned. Is faster than my MacBook Air (2018) that I own and with IPAD IOS I look forward to it getting even better.
