I can do anything on my iPP that I did on my computer. I can’t do Photoshop right now, but that is coming next year. But I sure think (and so do a lot of other people) that Affinity Photo is fantastic.

Yes, maybe things are a bit slower, but I am fairly new at using it as my computer. So I have little post it notes on my desk to help me remember which app I like using for different tasks. I also added the ability to print in any size on my printer. It did help that I bought a new printer that has AirPrint - that opened up a whole new way to get printing done.

I just professionally printed the Programs for my Son’s wedding this weekend. In fact, we had trouble matching paper size to some photos we wanted to print. I had to use a different app (some just getting used to things). So we tried using my daughter’s laptop. I ended up with more success when I opened the right app and could finally print successfully. That was using my iPP or my iPhone LOL

I AM and have been a power computer user. Yes - it is a bit lopsided right now, but I plan on using 2 12.9” iPPs to replace my high end desktop. I am so done with Windows computers. I get on my husband’s or daughter’s windows laptops and get so frustrated. I do like Mac OS or iOS so much better now. Only been using it full time now for a few months. I am also the person that everyone (including friends) come to when their Windows PC are having problems. SO I do know what I am doing....

For using an iPP as your computer, you need to try out lots of apps. Some you will like for the task you want to do, and some you will not like. I do a lot of researching online about the types of apps I want to use to do certain things - then I don’t have to buy useless apps for me..... I actually LOVE using my iPP as my computer!

The A12x chip inside the iPad Pro 3 is extremely fast. This thing is finally surpassing MacBook Pros. Here are some of things that are really impressive.

1. The removal of the finger print reader and switching to Face ID.
2. Smaller bezels and thinner design.
3. Faster charging and longer battery life.
4. Faster processor on par with laptops.

And how would you know this? It hasn't been released yet? You have no real world experience with it since it is vapor ware at this point.

Good grief I hope not. That’s too much money to be asking for an iOS device running 12.

Here goes the ol' argument that Apple costs too much money for the common folk. Apple has always commanded premium pricing. I recall in 1996-98, the latest computers from Apple were far and above over anything in the Windows world. And it has not changed in over 20 years. Not to be rude at all but I would love to fly in a private jet everywhere I go but I cannot afford it. Same with Apple computers - they are not made for people on food stamps, in bankruptcy court, or making $9.00 an hour. Somewhere along the line, people have gotten the idea that they are somehow entitled to own Apple computers. For those who cannot afford new, there is always used.

Bull. I make media on my iPad all the time. Just cause you lack the skills and knowledge or maybe it’s the desire doesn’t mean you are everyone. Folks need to just can this whole debate. If it doesn’t suit your needs, fine don’t buy it. But don’t act like you are some universal cause you aren’t

And not everyone needs a ‘full fledged computer’ so if you do, buy one.
Because you know exactly what I would use an iPad for? Lack the skills and knowledge? Wow. You're quite civil..? It does not suit my needs for what I use it for to be my main computer.. I never said it was a BAD product.. I even said I wanted one.. what's with you?

I agree with you in theory but I am starting to have thoughts Apple is taking advantage of brand loyalty to raise prices, even though they are delivering arguably less and less value added. I’m in for this cycle bit after that we’ll see

but I am starting to have thoughts Apple is taking advantage of brand loyalty to raise prices,

Its not that simple. Apple doesn’t raise prices because of loyalty. They raise prices because of adding more expensive components that would eat into their profit margin. And they can get away with using those more expensive components becuase folks are loyal to the brand and trust Apple to pick the best stuff to add. No one was asking for an OLED display on an iPhone, no one was asking for a 3d camera etc. Okay maybe some geek types were but the general public wasn’t. But Apple gave it to them along with some razzle dazzle marketing and they dealt with the $1000 price tag cause they love Apple

It's been released?

No. We don’t even know for fact that they are going to talk about it on the 30th. But that’s never stopped MR before

Well that doesn’t explain their average profit per Unit increase fixation. If their average profit per Unit stays the same then I’m all in for them maintaining profit, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

This article first started me thinking:

https://9to5mac.com/2018/10/21/do-apple-products-warrant-their-premium-price/

Give it a read and let me know your thoughts.

I never said it stays the same. I said they don’t want to eat into it. Making more profit is still not making less than they were before

None of us know if it’s everything or nothing, we will see, I know this, they put on first class events that make people THINK they are worth the price, in reality it’s doubtful but I’m sure I’m getting one since it’s time but don’t like pricing

No sense of entitlement here and I have no issue with paying a bit more for the quality products Apple puts out. I was simply reacting to HarryWild's predictions on pricing. There better be some major game changing usability advancements to warrant a $400 increase on a 256gb 12.9" Wifi IPP. If HarryWild was referring to LTE that's still a $270 increase . . a little steep even for those of us who aren't "on food stamps."

Thanks for saying what I was thinking. When is it too much for value added
