It's most definitely through software update, but knowing Apple they're probably thinking how you're thinking and not put a flashlight toggle because people 'won't use it'.

Apple will give you what you want before you know you needed it. If you think you need it before Apple gives it to you, you were incorrect. ;p

The iPod Touch 5 was the first iPod to have a flash
and it has the flashlight option in control center while older generation doesn't, so why not the iPad?

Y'know what else bugs the crap outta me along those lines?
No stock WEATHER & STOCKS app.
It makes absolutely zero sense that these are on
both iPhone and iPod Touch, but not on iPad.

I honestly don't understand why anyone is arguing about having a flashlight on an iPad.

I'm with you 100% on both having the flash available as a light
and why are people going against this.
Some just use the internet to say everything you say is wrong/stupid/etc.

For example, there's nothing "wrong" with taking pictures & shooting video with an iPad.
I do it all the time.
That's what the bloody cameras are there for.
I've shot/edited/distributed/exhibited several films I've made, all on iPad.

Likewise, I see nothing "wrong" with the iPad's flash
being used as a flashlight via a button in Control Center.

Hey, Tim!
Forget about Warner Brothers & Netflix! Fix the "no flashlight" problem!
And yes, I've submitted this suggestion to Apple using their customer input form.

This.

I've never understood why there is so much hate and why "it's ridiculous" about taking a photo or recording a video with an iPad. If there is a freaking back camera on an iPad then it's supposed to be used, period.

Some people seems to be irritated when they see someone using its iPad's back camera but I can't understand how it bothers them in the first place.

It could be very annoying if someone holding up an iPad blocks your view. But yeah, as long as you aren't obstructing someone else, I don't see anything wrong with using the iPad to take pictures. I find using the big screen to frame pictures is very nice.

While I was setting my Pro up, the time came to test the new flashlight light option. I was disappointed and pissed off that there wasn't one, and I still am. I use the flashlight feature on my iPhone almost daily, and I was really looking forward to using it on my iPad.

Also, I've been hoping for iPads to get the vibration feature like iPhones, and the weather app, for years.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
I'm in my room. It's dark. I need to get out of bed and go to the bathroom. Let me put my iPad down and fumble around trying to find my phone so I can use the flashlight on a different device.

Sitting on the couch playing on my iPad. Phone charging in the other room. Power goes out. Gotta get up to light some candles. Ow! Stubbed my toe on the corner of the coffee table because I couldn't see.

It's kind of silly to pretend a flashlight on the iPad wouldn't be useful.

Or you could just buy a desk lamp.....

Leave feedback over on the apple site. If enough say they want it, then they will add it. I personally wouldn't think of using it, but it should be easy to add, I would think. Until then download one of the many apps that will do it?

Spend money to avoid a free solution? Good logic.

There are two types of people in this world. Those that make fun of others for taking pictures with an iPad and those who grew up, matured, and became adults.
