Nothing wrong with my eyes.

However, you're obviously blinded by your love for Apple!

This iPad should have had 4GB of RAM, if it's to be considered a "Pro" device.

Tell me something: Why does the 12.9" iPad Pro have 4GB of RAM, yet the 7.9" iPad "Pro" only has 2GB of RAM?

Similarly, how can the tiny iPhone SE have the same amount of RAM as a "Pro" iPad??

It just doesn't make any sense.

They cheaped out with the RAM on this "Pro" iPad. They're obviously waiting for the refresh to give it 4GB of RAM - or should I say, another reason for people to "upgrade"!

The 12.9 has a lot more pixels to push about hence the ram upgrade.

Would your iPad be stuttering if you didn't know how much RAM it had? Could you maybe put up a video so we can see this stuttering? If it stutters that bad one would assume others are having this problem otherwise you got a lemon and need to exchange/return it.

I have a uniform gap that might be like 0.05mm, I really don't see anything that I would call a gap in your photos. As for the home button, it's snug and tiny bit softer than my phone, no issue there.

There's no point in by arguing with apologists, if the iPad pro had half a gig of ram they'd be saying "it's all you'll need for the next 10 years"

HaHa!!

You know it.

Apple loves suckers like them. In fact, they are the reason that Apple cheaps out with RAM & such.

Apple knows they will just lap it up ... and praise them for it!

Know what's way more annoying than "Apple apologists"? People who have decided suddenly that it's a rule that "Pro" gadgets must have 4 GB of RAM, and that everyone who buys less than that is an idiot.

First of all, I doubt you ever actually had one. Second of all, I'm not sure what you could have possibly been doing to make the iPad Pro stutter. This thing is a beast.

The Apple polemicists are alive and well on this forum too.

I for one am very happy with my 9.7 Pro. The screen is the best I've ever seen in an iPad. When a better one comes along, I can simply sell and upgrade. Very simple. In the meantime, I will enjoy this one! :)

Easy. The larger Pro has twice the screen area as the smaller Pro. It is intended to be a more powerful multi-tasker by design.

The smaller iPads are, like the iPhones, devices that are largely intended for handling one primary activity at once.

Tell me more about how it's so great and you're so happy the 9.7 pro has usb 2.0, the iPad Pro initial ally had a max of 128 gigs, then a few months later upped it to 256, 2 gigs of ram and the magic reason Siri hands free is available on the 9.7 but not the 12.9 pro.

The problem with apologists is they think no one is allowed to have preferences or be dissatisfied with a product and we should all be happy at what the masters at Apple bestow upon us no matter what.

I'm happy to have an iPad that has the same portable form factor as the iPad 2 it replaces and can use the Smart Keyboard and Pencil. I'm happy that it has the best screen I've ever seen in an iPad to date. I'm happy it has 256GB of storage to hold my entire music collection and a lot of movies and TV shows with room to spare. I'm happy that it has 4 speakers and sounds many times better than the non-pro iPads.

If I decide that I am no longer happy with it, I will sell it. For now, I am using and enjoying it and am satisfied with my purchase. If I wasn't, I would have returned it.

That is my opinion and experience of it. You are welcome to yours of course. No apologies necessary.

Don't kid yourself!

Slide Over, Split View & PIP work great on a 9.7" display.

Therefore, 4GB of RAM would have made this new 9.7" iPad "Pro" so much better.

It would also have made it future proof. BUT, that is EXACTLY why Apple (the money grabbing company that it is) DIDN'T put 4GB of RAM in it!

They are saving that for the NEXT "upgrade", to give all of the suckers a reason to "upgrade" yet again!

People such as yourselves, who actively DEFEND Apple's decision to scrimp & scrape on specs, are actually giving them the green light to do so.

I really liked my 9.7" iPad "Pro". However, I returned it and I'm happy to wait for the next refresh which will include 4GB of RAM.

I was stung with the whole iPad 3 scenario, and I'm not prepared to suffer that again.

I have the smaller Pro, and use slide-over and split-view all the time. With the smaller screen, multi-tasking is 'supplemental' i.e. I mostly use it for a chat or to quickly view another piece of information more easily while doing something else. It works flawlessly as is. There is absolutely nothing this device would do better for me with 4GB RAM over 2, so I choose not to worry about something so trivial.

There are several apps that do more on the 12.9 vs 9.7 because of RAM. Like maximum number of layers, image size, undo buffer.

One of the reasons may be related to much bigger display on 12.9 Pro, which requires more RAM than a 9.7 Pro. The "upgrade" argument is not valid, otherwise they would have put 2 or 3GB ram on the 12.9 as well. The fact is that experience is not impaired whatsoever by these 2gb ram at the moment. I buy my gadgets to use them right now, and not only in the future.

So you'd buy a TV with 1080P now at almost the same price as a 4K TV because what you view right now is only 1080P? You would buy a 1 bedroom house because you don't have kids right now? The lack of foresight is astonishing...

It is the iPad Air all over again... Apple with fix safari, they'll will optimise it... it doesn't need 2GB...

There are already Apps that do more on the 12.9 because it has more RAM.

The fact of the matter is that the iPad Pro 9.7 is the best 9.7" iPad currently on the market. When a better one comes out, I will sell my Pro for probably around 80% of what I paid for it and get the improved model. I am happy to spend the $100-$200 to have the fastest piece of tech for my needs while it's available and not have to waste my days trolling internet forums coming up with non-empirical excuses as to why its okay that I can't afford the new toy that everyone is raving about.

OP, my screen has no gap. Might be worth exchanging yours if you think it will nag at you over time.

The 12.9 pro has 4GB to push around the larger amount of pixels needed in apps in games. You will not notice better performance between the two devices. I didn't at all and had both. If a future iOS update slows down the 9.7, the 12.9 will slow as well.

Had x4 iPad Pro replacement and all had this problem and I finally gave up and not owning the iPad since I don't really need a iPad. It was really obvious since mine was the Silver color...

My iPad Air 1 and 2 didn't have this "issue", should not have sold my Air 2 away.
