lol true

I already got accidentally hit by someone playing VR ...

great experience though (not being hit, the VR experience)

I wish I can get into VR too, just don't know which platform to choose as there is no one platform with all the games I am interested in

I sometimes use an old Dell 24" monitor with my PS4. No speakers though, I connect a pair of headphones to the PS4 controller. Works great!

I do not want to hijack this thread, but yes, VR still is in the early stages both technologically and in terms of game support

I went with the PS VR because I already was in the PS4 eco system and the PS VR was relatively cheap for just trying to be an early adopter

when the PS5 comes out I might very well choose to permanently stay in the virtual world ;)

Good point about the price! Yeah, having a PS4 and PS VR is way cheaper than building a new PC and getting any of the VR headsets

I'll will have to be more patient and slowly work for the PC setup I suppose

Meanwhile, if only the new iPad Pro will support VR...

For the OP (and this is why I brought up VR): with PS VR you also can play non VR capable games (or even watch non-VR-3D movies), just using your visor

the experience is just like enjoying the silver screen at the movies (you even see the rows of seats in front of you backlit by the enormous virtual screen)

after that kind of experience (even if still quite low res) you want to throw your tiny 65 inch tv out of the window

being a father myself two more annotations:

+ virtual 3D audio is fed via the visor, you can play at any time without disturbing anyone

- be aware of the cable connecting the visor to the processor box and your range of action. small children, animals, objects, wives and so on (not necessarily in that order) need to be out of harms way

Well I purchased a new 12.9 iPad Pro and an Xbox one x. Not sure if I can get them to talk but if not my plan is to grab a 4K computer monitor and just have it somewhere the kid can’t watch it

The whole point of Xbox one x is 4k gaming. iPads don’t even have a 4k screen!

A nintendo switch besides being a plastic overpriced toy is a very expensive item to fully gear up. Besides the initial 300$ you need to buy a good case , microSD, quality protector screen , pro controller and purchase each game for 60$ a pop even indie games.

After doing the math it's really not worth , when you buy this new ipad you get the best gadget ever made , for gaming, multimedia consumption etc. you can't even watch netflix or browse on a switch just food for thought , gamer to gamer I have a big pet peeve against anyone recommending a half assed fischer price tablet like the switch.

Wow. What a totally inaccurate thing to say about the Switch, but maybe Santa will bring you one for Christmas if you're a good boy.
