Any obvious bug in the public beta? Will Apple deny service or return if my iPad is loaded with beta OS?

No obvious bugs, nope.

Two things:

1.) Apple could deny service but not return, since you can return it for any reason. It's easy to restore to 9.1 anyway.

2.) If you update to 9.2, and make a backup, you need 9.2 on your iPad to restore the backup.

The betas are very stable. For many (all?) of us, they're more stable than the release 9.1 on iPad Pro.

I find it randomly freezes and I can't figure out a pattern to the freezing.
For me, the biggest disappointment is that it can't replace my surface pro 3 - the apple keyboard with its lack of trackpad or mouse mean that for me it is not as ideal. I want the option to both use a keyboard and handwrite on the same device so the macbook air would not suit me better. The pencil is not as useful for me as the surface pro pen (with the erase and more mouse like buttons). I admit my expectations were perhaps too high for apple.

I have two units right now (they aren't both staying) and so here's my OCD report.

Unit 1:
-Slightly warmer display (not excessively)
-Uniformity is good across the panel, but there's some slight shadow in two of the corners. Less than an inch radius and not very severe.
-No stuck pixels.
-Lock, volume buttons seem very solid. Home button slightly softer.

Unit 2:
-Slightly cooler display
-Uniformity is good, very little to none of the corner shadow of Unit 1, very subtle book spine effect (barely noticeable). This display is probably subjectively more uniform because of the lack of corner shadows.
-No stuck pixels.
-Home, lock, and volume up buttons very solid, volume down a bit mushy.

So there you go. It's a real world made of real matter by real people, nothing can be perfect. Which one of those would you keep? Hard to pick, right? Just keep that in mind when you start doing returns for really minor issues (you are likely to get a different minor issue).

I don't think it is OCD for wanting good colours on the iPad pro screen. Apple is selling the iPad pro as something for pro artists.

Overall really like the iPad Pro. Only issue as others have mentioned is the slow charging time. I wish Apple offered a larger charger for it. Much slower than my iPad Air 2 was and if I'm using it while it is plugged in the charging really slows to a crawl.

No other issues at all.

Are people actually draining their IPP in one day? The closes I have come is 25%. I just charge it ever night like I do with my apple watch.

As of Friday we now have over ten at work. They're decent so far, no issues of consequence. Now that we've all adjusted to Apples variable quality and slightly increased ratio of bugs per device no one faces disappointment.

I don't charge mine every night. I read and then use it for my alarm clock. So when I do need to charge it I'm just not used to needing that much time between home and work.

I am on my 3-4 ipad, I have always charged every night. I am asleep, there is no reason for it to be slowly draining and not charging.

Yeah, you're correct - sound clicks/system sounds and even cover close doesn't produce any sounds, or they are at incredibly low volume... Definitely a BUG
As I said very low volume on click when using the inner keyboard calls Apple was promise to get back to me they never did (I have case #) but don't want to complain don't want some getting faired b4 Xmess

I got my iPad pro about three days ago. Initially I was only planning to really use it for development purposes. However, I really enjoy the big screen for media consumption, especially the new Apple news app. It's so much better having an adequate display for pictures and video. I'm also very surprised by the quality of the speakers. They are much better than the speakers on my 2011 MacBook Pro.

Overall, I would recommend an iPad pro for anyone planning to buy one of the higher end iPads.

I think I'll be getting an Apple pencil soon, so hopefully that will be an enjoyable experience also.

My iPP only has the low system sounds issue, (but isn't really an issue anymore as I don't care since it's software related) Anyway my iPP actually charges pretty well, about 5-15% slower than the Air 2... BUT it lasts a lot longer. The screen is perfect, the buttons are good, not too tight or loose. Overall I wasn't sure I was going to keep it, I still have to try out the Pencil... if it doesn't work... I probably will still keep it as it's just too darn nice with everything I do. lol

Seem to have an issue where you press the shift button to get the above icons working on the keyboard. If I hold left shift key in and tap another key sometimes full keyboard goes grey and lettering disappears. So either a software issue or a issue from restoring a backup off my Air
That's not a bug. You don't hold the shift key. You touch it to activate it and then touch they key that you want (i.e. The 5 to get a %)

When you touch the keyboard area with 2 fingers simultaneously it changes to a trackpad mode for precise cursor positioning/

Got mine yesterday. A 128 Gb wifi only model. Charged it last night. Had to hard reset this AM. Only issue I've really noticed so far. I expect it will go away when I update iOS next.

On that note where does one find the publice beta of 9.2 and when you install it will the next live release update it again?

Reading about some of these same problems buyers are finding on their new iPad Pros, does not make me feel good about getting one today.
Has Apple dropped their quality, to get more of them out to customers at Christmas?

No drop in quality.sadly this has become pretty typical for the first release until they release the first OS patch. I've he no issues, but I did not restore from iCloud.

Anyone have any darker corners than the rest of the screen that can be noticed on white backgrounds? Perfectly uniform otherwise

Yes, I had one that had a slightly darker bottom right corner (portrait, home button on bottom). It was like the screen was dirty there.

Look at your receipt. My Pro purchased on 11/11 shows a return date of 1/8 on the receipt.

I bought my online and had a look at the return functionality and it said 20th of January . Which is fantastic , though I can't see it mentioned anywhere on the apple website . Looks like I have almost 2 more month to decide now

I don't know if it's a fault but my speakers are quiet when typing or hearing a text tone, but are super good and loud when listening to music or watching a movie. Like I can still hear it but it's oddly quiet.
Typing is super quiet too, like the top speakers are set at low and won't go any higher. It is weird as the ringtones are normal and so are all other sounds except clicks, typing, and text tones.

Kal.

Have you checked the settings? If "Change with buttons" is off for Ringer and tones, the notification sounds will have volume control independant of general volume. The slider could be set to a low level volume while the rest of the device could be high.

No lock-up this morning after coming off the charger but touch ID did not unlock it and it said "requires passcode after restart" only I did not restart it so that was a spontaneous event while I slept.

Didn't Apple state that there will be a software fix for the lock ups?

I'm taking it that most issues are software related then (aside from the yellow spot distortion, a screen bleed, and 2-3 creaking sounds?)
So this is like other iPad and iPhone releases... mostly good products (90%) at launch, but better when second batch hits.
Hopefully iOS 9.1.2 or whatever it will be called will fix the speaker sounds and other glitches with the keyboard and whatnot.

I have been in the computer business all my life and If there is one thing I learned it is that you should never buy hardware or software x.0 version. There is always ... always unpleasant issues to deal with. But hey ! I am very glad not everyone think like me !
