I don’t have a MacBook, but I do have a Windows PC that I only use to sync iTunes or when I have to fix something on my iPhone which requires iTunes. Other than that, my 6th Gen 12.9 iPad Pro with the Brydge keyboard is my laptop replacement, and has been for a year now.

MacBook Pro is not a replacement for iPad Pro

Took my 16" MacBook Pro out to a co-working space for some productivity time editing a client's website. Was great there.
Still had it with me when I went to get some bloodwork at a lab (traveling via transit and on foot). In the waiting room I wanted check email and some websites on a bigger screen than my phone, but didn't want to pull out my big honking laptop -- was really missing my iPad Pro then.
I usually restrict my MBP travels to one location for doing work only, then bringing it back home. It's too bulky, heavy and limited in form-factor to tote around all day for spontaneous tech-tasks.
