I don't like the way the kindle OS works, I am going the other way back to books and get what I really like and can pass on, my fathers day book got on the weekend read in a day and have passed on already.
Kindles even the iPad app you just end up with so many books that are cheap or free that are no good and don't read.
New releases are similar priced in paper now anyway.
I don’t go for any books unless I intend to read them. As for hard editions, I like to keep those books I’ve enjoyed but I just have no more room. So quality has never been a problem with what I have purchased. And the 900 books on my Kindle would require a lot of space in hard editions.

Thought I’d mention here in case no one knew, but it looks like Remarkable are launching a new device today so could spice things up:

We must read different books, because this has not been my experience.

Also, no one is making you download free or crappy books. Just don't put them on your kindle/iPad, and the problem is solved!

I suspect we'll see a color Scribe later this year as well. This is another reason I returned my Scribe--I'd read the rumors. If I recall correctly, Amazon is the last big e-ink device maker without a color device, and it's not like them to fall behind.

I was trying to decide if I should wait, since it's been out two years, but my use case for the Scribe is 100% reading, and I can't think of a single (and plausible) hardware update that would make me like it better for reading library books, so I'm probably going stop checking for rumors and sale prices and just let my return window run out while I enjoy reading on it.

The new Remarkable Pro looks tasty. Expensive but will probably last for years as it has a 2 week battery life. Also it is purely a digital colour paper tablet, so no email or other apps to distract you.

The ebook experience on the platform is horrible though. As a paper scribble replacement it’s cool though.

Agree from what I found out when I researched them, Kindle Scribe had the best ebook experience, but Remarkable offer the best electronic paper experience which is what you buy these big devices for really.

I have an ipad M4 13” nano, a kindle paperwhite, a Scribe and an ipad mini. My favorite device is my M4 nano. I use Apple notes every single day. I use Apple Notes as my bullet journal, my diary, my commonplace book and any other note that I need to write, or document I may need to capture. I always have my iPhone with me, and more likely than not a Ipad as well, so all my information is at my fingertips. Plus with the Kindle or the Books app, all my books as well. My most treasured, and most used device is my M4 nano 13. Actually I am thinking of trading in my mini for an m4 11 nano, just because the mini is jsut a wee bit small to read on without enlarging the text, and the lack of Promotion messes with my eyes as well.
