what do people use the iPad Pro for? What needs are fulfilled by a top of the line iPad?

For reading a pdf doc or a textbook, the 12.9 iPad Pro is the better solution since you can read them in portrait mode and you can place it closer to you without having the keyboard getting in your way. This is not the case with a laptop since the keyboard isn’t detachable and a laptop is meant to be used in landscape mode, not portrait mode. Moreover, MacBook doesn’t support stylus so you can’t use it for handwritten note taking in a class or a conference.
