even if iphone goes to sprint, apple might not have tethering. if you want telthering, android or window is your best bet. you like apple product and you have to live by their rules, except headache of jailbreaking

I've done the JB thing, but battery life is effected to much to keep it that way. It's more of a "oh that's cool" than a necessity. If my work required it, they would pay for it anyhow. I just am guessing VZ or Sprint would eventually allow tethering. Apple has zero to do with tethering, AT&T is the one restricting it. Apple clearly implemented it, announced it at the keynote and it's up the carriers if or if not, Apple is not restricting tethering for anyone around the world, clearly AT&T's network is over run with all the iPhone data and has to not allow tethering to avoid a total meltdown.

I'd rather deal with no tethering than waste my time with anything related to Windows, did that for 20+ years, had more than my share of MS. As for Android, as it matures it's something i'll watch develop but as of now the iPhone delivers what I want in a smartphone.

Yup, I have my iPod JailBroken, and currently I use my Windows Mobile Device (HTC 6800) with WiFiRouter to take my incoming connection and broadcast it over Wifi. Works wonders actually.

It's invite only. Which is why I mentioned there are other apps that do this too.

It's an html5 web app, but you can also just visit the regular web version in your browser.

And I just found out, as I was trying to get an ivite from Google, its only available in the US. Poop again!

I'm hoping that's the case, at least that it's an App for the iPhone assuming it shows up this year on Sprint. I live near the Sprint world HQ and still baffled they haven't even put 4G here in KC. I would probably cut my cell phone bill in half moving to Sprint, so I'm ready when Apple decides to make the move!

Yeah, I'm from KC too, and for a long time they didn't even have decent voice coverage around their HQ. Sad, really, and kinda made me wonder about their quality of service overall. BTW I got this info from my friends on Sprint. I never had them.

Also--are you getting the iPad? I'm picking mine up from the Apple Store Leawood.

no matter what the iphone HD will be, it can't do things the ipad can because of large screen size.

the iphone can have more pixels, camera, etc. but due to its small screen size, there is not much you can do with it. You can't read book or browse for hours on the tiny screen. whatever you do on iphone, you can't stare at it for too long. you can't run completed app like iwork.

Perfectly said. Just as Jobs said, its inbetween the phone and computer. I ipad is about the apps and screen size. I don't see how people compare a phone to a tablet. Sure they look similar, but you guys can clearly see how much more capable it is and a big reason is the screen size. Ipad doesn't text or make phone calls for a reason.

simple get the ipad, then wait n see if the new iphone fits ur needs if so get one ;)

sound like ur just talking ur way into buying both anyways.... lol i do it all the time.... just self justification for the latest tech he he ...... :D:apple::D

1 64GB WiFi iPad
2 next generation iPhones (My Wife and I).

That's one reason why I'm not getting the 3G iPad :)

You can read me like a book ;)

What you need to do is wait to see what your supposed iPhone HD can do, decide whether or not the pros of the iPhone outweight the pros of the iPad, and then make your choice. Since it sounds like you don't really need a phone, you will probably end up with an iPad. But just to be safe, I would wait for the next iPhone to make your decision if I were you. Hope that helps. Be sure and let us know what you end up doing!

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

I choose iPad.

They could quadruple the resolution of the iPhone and it would be completely pointless. There is no need IMO for more pixels on the iPhone.

I'm happy w my 3GS
