Try FileBrowser - https://apps.apple.com/es/app/filebrowser-for-business/id854618029?l=enI want the files app to be made useful!!
I hear you, but my intent in this thread was to list features we'd like to see, not bug fixes (I'm not blaming you for posting these, as I was the one who was not clear).I would like to see the battery life of iOS 7.1.2 or even just 12.1
I would like the return of the rock solid bluetooth and wifi stacks of 7.1.2 They rewrote the wifi stack in iOS 8 and it has been garbage ever since.

Essentially, my hopes for this thread were to discuss the things that remain barriers to the iPad being a true laptop replacement and whether we might see some of these in iOS 14.

I can´t see Apple putting in as much effort to their Files app, that this company puts into their version.
option to hide home bar button on iphone x iphone 11 and ipad pro 2018 2020. seriously i come from android s8 s9 s10 i always keep it invisible because i know gestures by heart at least apple could do is give me option to hide it i don’t want burn in some apps do not automatically hide the home bar jesus apple can you at least do that already
iPadOS 14 - What do you want to see?Remember: this thread is about iPadOS features and, in particular, those that would make it a laptop replacement.
Is it fully iCloud Drive compatible?
My main problems with the files app are a) not being able to download whole folders and b) search being abysmal.
Thus I'd like options such as being able to have all of iCloud Drive downloaded at all times, or optimise downloads based on usage + being able to download whole folders at one time.
I'd also like for files search to search the contents of documents.
Agreed. I'm hopeful but not convinced they will get it though, given they run the A8 line of SoCs. A8 is really getting long in the tooth, but A8X still has some life left in it. However, despite the fact that A8X is way faster than A8, I wouldn't be surprised to see Apple drop both at the same time in 2020. The benefit of dropping A8/A8X is going with a fixed minimum feature set provided by A9 and up. So while iOS/iPadOS 13 made 2 GB RAM the minimum requirement, I'd guess that iOS/iPadOS 14 would make A9 the minimum requirement. One big feature for A9/A9X and up is hardware h.265 HEVC acceleration. This is missing on A8/A8X.What I want is for the Air 2 and hopefully Mini 4 to support it

HEVC aside though, from a pure performance perspective, I think it makes sense for iPad Air 2 to get the update, while leaving iPad mini 4 behind.
I'm ambivalent on the iPhone SE (2016) because of its 4" form factor, even though I have one. However, I think it will get iOS 14, because it is only 4 years old and has A9, and because the iPod touch 7th generation with the same form factor will get it since it was just released last year (with A10).

My other main wish for iOS/iPadOS 14 is that external storage support is improved. Cuz it still kinda sucks right now.
I’m sure we’d have heard rumours by now if it were coming, but basically I think iPad needs to start acting like Mac OS when using an external display - ie real multitasking with multiple resizable windows that you can move around.
I also think they need to totally rethink how current split screen and slide over is implemented. The process for launching a second application right now is slow, unwieldy, unintuitive and in-Apple. I also keep ending up with forgotten about windows (especially Safari ones) - that happen to anyone else?
I would love to see pro apps come to the iPad Pro, IF Final Cut Pro X was brought to the iPad Pro i would upgrade my 2017 to the new one as soon as.
Craig Federighi will be showing more keyboard software demos at WWDC according to the leaks at the end of this iPhone video
With the current situation, i think he means via some videos or maybe there will be one keynote but without the audience.
