I am facing an odd issue where my iPhone 11 Pro battery is draining rather quickly while on wifi. Overnight my phone will drain 40% while on wifi and about 1-3% if on LTE (Seen screen shot where I woke up and switch to LTE and the drain flatlined). My battery only gets 4-6 hours of on-screen time during the day if I am on wifi. If I switch to LTE, the drain flatlines. There is something trying to drain my battery while I am on wifi, however the battery app does not disclose that anything is. Very odd.

I did notice, overnight, that siri is using 100% battery at times which is strange. To make things even more strange, my iPad is now facing the same type of battery drain while on wifi and has siri using battery overnight.

Any ideas? When I got my pro 11, I started fresh (no backup). I did a reset a few days ago and yesterday, I swapped my 11 pro for a new phone from apple which did not help. I also turned off background refresh which did nothing. I was about to do a dfu but since my iPad now has the same issue, I am not sure that will help. I am thinking it is something with Siri, iCloud, photos or some other apple application. This happens every day, all day, while on wifi. I am on 13.1.2 for my iPhone and just upgraded to 13.2 beta on my Iphone. Same behavior.

I have attached a series of pictures (first 2 are iPhone and iPad showing siri overnight), the apps I have on my phone, and battery drain on my iPhone.

Try 2.4 or 5 GHz, the one you’re not trying.

Try a different router. Reset/Swap router.

I can try that however my wife, using an iPhone 11, is not having any issues with drain (she is on 13.0) using the same wifi (5ghz) as me. She also has no Siri usage overnight like I do

Try starting afresh with DFU.

Ask your wife to update to 13.1.2?

Did you have the problem on 13.0?

I don't want her to face the same issue since the drain is so drastic. She uses her phone a lot more than I do and if I can barely make it to 4-6 hrs on screen, she will have no battery by noon.

I do not recall having the issue on 13.0, but I am not 100% sure of that as I spent most of the first 2 weeks traveling so mostly on LTE. I could do the DFU on my phone, but that suggests I will also need to do it on my iPad too

Just rechecked my iPad and the siri use was constant 100% for 6 hours straight yesterday evening. I have now completed turn siri off on all my devices but I don't understand why Siri would be causing issues only while connected to Wifi

I would set up iPhone complete as a new one. Save all data (Backup everything with tools, Contacts photos etc)

And use it without anything.

If then it’s happening too (disable iCloud completely too) then it’s something with WiFi or router.

Change router if also maybe the iPhone has a problem?

Just turned it off let’s see what happens. Siri is definitely up to something. See attached.

I disabled siri and left my iPad on wifi while out of the home. Siri still had activity of 100%. The fact that this is happening on both my iPad and iPhone makes me wonder if there is something wrong with my iCloud account

I am now trying to connect to my 2.4ghz network (instead of 5ghz). Seeing positive results so far, but I don't know why that would be the issue.

I noticed the issue you’re having with my old iPhone 7 (it has a new battery but I keep it as a secondary phone). My battery would drain a lot during standby. I know it might be a pain but try this for one night (sign out of iCloud and I bet the issues goes anyway).

When you say same issue, are you also seeing siri eat up battery? Last night siri killed my iPhone battery (drop of 20%) with 100% siri every hour starting at midnight. My iPad (with siri completely off) also had siri eating up battery dropping 10% over night.

If I turn iCloud off, like you say, should I turn it back on after a night?

It looks like the battery drain is specific to my devices on 2.4ghz and 5ghz channel. My wife's phone did not have a drain issue last night.

Try signing out of iCloud and test it for a night? Both iPhone and iPad.

Ive had Siri battery drain on my iPhone X and now on my iPhone 11 pro. Once I disabled both Siri and Siri dictation the Siri battery drain went away. Seems to happen when listening to music via a Bluetooth device.

When turning off siri, do you turn off siri for each individual app (ex. Learn from this app)

No. Just disable press side button for Siri under the Siri settings menu And disable Siri dictation under the keyboard settings thats it.

I've logged out of iCloud on my iPad and so far things look good. lets see what happens overnight

While logged out of iCloud, for 24 hours, my iPad has lost 0% battery. My iPhone (logged into iCloud) is still losing a drastic amount of battery due to siri. If I am charging the phone or on LTE, siri does not run. As soon as I am on wifi and not charing, Siri just drains the battery nonstop. She is completely turned off!
