Very minor upgrades and prices touching or exceeding $1,000 for the “flagship” iPhones. Likely an upgraded Xʀ, but we will know for sure when the keynote happens.
Sales aren’t good with Apple right now so they need to spice things up. At least they’re doing well with iPads. iPadOS will add value to them.

No prediction but I'm excited. Love this time of year.
Announced 10th. Released 20th. Same prices as last year. Named simply iPhone and iPhone Pro
No chance they'll announce on 9/11. iPhone keynotes always fall on a Tuesday, unless that happens to be 9/11 in which case it occurs on the Wednesday

Genuine question, why do you believe ‘Pro’ will be used this year? (As opposed this has been the third year in a row that’s been rumored with the ‘Pro’ moniker and debunked every time.)
Likely due to the leaker who has been right every year with his tweets....will see next month though I guess.
You mean, the other leakers who had ‘accurate’ track records who predicted the same thing.....and were wrong multiple years in a row...
Really the point is, ‘Pro’ is off base for a phone. I get it, it’s marketing, but it’s just not very fitting. (Kinda like ‘Max’...)

The "Pro"-naming was only a matter of time, wasn't it? At least it creates naming parity between iPhone, iPad and the computers. I like it.

Last year there was 2 camera lens on the back of the iPhone and this year there is rumored to be 3 lenses. So retail prices are staying the same and you think apple got a huge discount on camera lens or apple is taking in less profit on each iPhone?
My guess is they will announce/start sales earlier (mid September not end of September). Same prices.
Biggest change will be in camera technology which may justify lots of upgrades (but not a major cycle). Apple is also counting on lots of iPhones 6 and 6s still out there.
Next year will have major changes in SOC with 5G and 5nm node manufacturing, plus smaller notch, battery tech (?) and certainly new colors. Major upgrade cycle for sure.

Last year there was also a 3D Touch layer that's rumoured to be getting removed, so that's likely to offset some of the camera cost (if only partially). The demand for this year's iPhone is likely to be down on prior years and it'd take an awful lot of 'courage' for Apple to look to increase prices. Total speculation of course.
Yeah - really just a nod to yesterday's article. Who know's if it's true but I think it's time to do away with the numbering system

With sales not where they should be they aren’t going to increase pricing. If they do then all hell will break loose
I have to agree a price increase with (if the leaks are correct) little enhancements would lead to a backlash of annual upgrades rebelling and saying no thanks. I’m on the IPhone upgrade program so I’m expecting to upgrade but a price increase without a major tech surprise would change that
Disagree. The importance to the numbering system allows the user to see the newest iPhone with the highest number, and the oldest number shows the older model devalued. That’s why Apple uses it, because it’s easy to distinguish versus all these ’marketing terms’ that Apple likes to use from time to time It’s also very similar to the Apple Watch with the Series 1/2/3/4, etc. It Makes it easy to know which is the newest model with the highest number.
I was going to write exactly the same thing. I don't think they will wait end of the September to announce it. For the release furthest can be 20th I guess.
