There’s no such thing as a ‘flag ship’ phones, even by Apple standards. It’s based on price points, you said most ‘popular iPhone’, it’s not the iPhone that makes a popular, try the price point in general. Especially when Apple slashed the iPhone 11 by $50 dollars comparable to the 2018 E’XR that was $750.

Anything around £700 onwards is considered a flagship. That’s pretty much common knowledge by now.

Price is massive part in this but if the product wasn’t great then so many wouldn’t buy it. So no it’s not just the most popular iPhone it’s the most popular phone period certainly in the UK. It also sold the most in the US. So clearly the screen quality is not an issue for most people

As for the actual topic of features: I'm still using a 7 - my wife has a 6S Plus.

Literally the one thing I want them to change from whatever the current ones have, is to adopt USB-C. Yes, it means a heap of existing cables won't work, but it also means that a heap of cables I already have *will* work.

I got caught out last year when using my phone to tether my MBP, because the battery (in the phone) ran low, and I had no charger for it, and no USB-A adapter with me for the laptop. I had about 3 USB C-to-C cables of different lengths with me.

I appreciate that Lightning was a good change from the 30 pin dock connector. USB-C didn't exist at the time. It does now, and Apple have gone pretty full-on with it in every product except the consumer iOS devices.

If they want to "differentiate" still: put a ****ing Thunderbolt chip in the Pro phone/tablet lines, and do something crazy with that.

Trying to push your own narrative what’s considered a ‘flag ship’ phone for $700 isn’t remotely accurate. Could the iPhone SE have been considered a ‘flag ship‘ phone for how successful it was for three years running? Again, there’s no such thing as a flag ship phone by Apples standards, even if the iPhone 11 is incredibly popular just as the iPhone XR was, that doesn’t make it a flag ship because it was “$700”. Price point is equally important, but any iPhone could be considered popular simply just because of the branding/marketing it carries alone.

Back to the point, at 720P display doesn’t resonate with consumers, they don’t understand pixel/resolution, etc. They see the price point of a smart phone, which is why Apple reduced the iPhone 11 by $50 To compete against the android segment in other countries/ to create a more broadened scope in China.

People have been hoping Apple will adopt USB-C for the past couple years and tbh... I don't think it will ever happen.

Apple will remove the lightning port before ever adopting USB-C. And then bring out some type of wireless charger sold separately. It's just the genius of Apple to remove the headphone jack and introduce those Airpods that eventually become a massive success. And the funny part about potential removal of the lightning port... Samsung and others will follow suit in removal of the USB-C port on their phones.

What narrative? Everybody in tech knows about the term flagship and what is meant by this. It’s high end specs from features to processor. Iphone SE was low to mid range device and has always been seen as such.

By apple’s standards yes they do have flagships.

The iphone pro and pro max are their top flagship, followed by the 11 then the XR then older models such as iphone 6,7,8 which now are not flagship specs due to lack of hardware features and slower processors.

Iphone 11 is very popular because it is £700 but also has the same features as the pro just with one less camera. It still has the best processor and the same hardware just in a different body and no telephoto lens.

As I said everybody who is into tech knowns what is a flagship and what isn’t

Just like the S20/20 ultra are flagships and their A70 are low range phones.

It’s about that time of year you flip flop back to Samsung isn’t it? And start bagging iphone again lol.

Knowing Apple and its uninformed fanbase, they will get away with their most reinvented innovative 59HZ 720P display.

We won’t see 120hz till 2025.

I don’t believe for a second that the average guy is more educated who buys an Android. Spec sheet lover maybe, but that’s not any better in my book really.

Sony is not the only competition in the market, and if you don’t see the difference between 720p vs 1080P then highly advise you to visit the doctor. I guess you’re one of those who can’t see the difference between 60 vs 120hz as well...?

I knew Apple was able to fool people that their 720p iPhone 11 was innovative.

Display is good enough for millions apparently. Overall package is the most appealing to consumers. No fooling necessary.

ME? nah never again. For me no matter how great the hardware is on Samsung devices the software is the draw back. Notifications not coming through on time? Massive issue for me. I get too many to not get them ontime.
