Only 135 grams (Like iPhone 7).
476 ppi (The most ever).
Less bezel (more than the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro!).
Small and comfortable (Smaller than iPhone 8).
Excellent camera (There is almost no difference from the iPhone 12 Pro, according to YouTube reviews).
Made of aluminum (Much more fun to hold, less slippery).
Small battery (charges faster than any other iPhone).
Good battery (15 hours of use, like iPhone xs max!).

Thank you Apple.
This is the ideal size!

And less bright at 625 nits vs 800 nits on the pro models.. idk man.

And less RAM.
And 5G on the larger devices already drains battery in sine situations, in those same situations with the Mini you’d get less usage per charge.

I do love the Mini though, but to try and imply it’s the best there is, that is wrong. It’s the best, for some. The same as the 12 or 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max would also be the best for certain people.

Wow this looks fantastic! I do think that guy’s hand is huge. For me it would look like a normal iPhone instead of something too big for my hand. But at least I would be able to reach the whole screen one handed finally.

I think (like always) people are making a big deal out of nothing. 5G is far from ready for mainstream so might as well set it to use LTE and get excellent battery life just like the 11 line.

Also, that's why there's Smart Data Mode. With that mode switched on the iPhone will only use 5G for traffic that benefits from it. I think in day-to-day use the battery life differences (especially with Smart Date Mode) will be negligible.

I'm starting to get a little excited about the mini, but it is such a big jump I will have to hold it first to make sure I can red the screen.

You're right about that, where I live LTE is sketchy at best, 5G is not a reality for me in my area any time soon. If I were to upgrade this year (undecided still) I'd opt for a non 5G device if I had that as an option.

I like 12 mini and I hope it's not too small either. In the picture in the guy's hand it looks very small.

Same size as iPhone 7. Every time I use one I remember how comfortable that size was so I'm guessing it will be great as a full screen device.

That really was the perfect size. I bought an iPod touch recently to use for when I don’t want to use my massive iPhone 11 Pro and it reminds me how much better things were back then. iPod is smaller than the 7/12 mini but it’s still a nice daily reminder.

no one “complained” because that was the highest brightness/nits offered..

I understand you have a different opinion so let’s just agree to disagree. Even so, you’re comparing the cheapest model in the lineup to the most expensive model. Some kind of trade off was to be expected. The fact that we’re getting an OLED with ultra high PPI, 5G, A14 etc. in the form factor of the mini is just fantastic if you ask me.

Point is that 625 vs 800 is just numbers on paper. In everyday use 625 nits is fine. As evidenced by no one ever said “damn you know the iPhone XS screen is really dim!”

also I would point out that more bright is not by definition more better. Surely nobody would want to look at a phone screen that is 2000 nits - even at noon in the Desert! Sure, high brightness is good for HDR, but at some point it’s a matter of diminishing returns. How bright is “right”? I dunno but it’s surely subjective and hard to quantify. Again, point being I would weigh real world impression way above spec numbers. And the real world impressions for the last 8 years of phone tech has been that screens are bright enough.

all that said, I would be all over an iPhone 12 Pro mini if it existed. I just like the premium build of the Pro models personally.

The mini is really exciting. I pre ordered the 12 Pro but I have every intent to return or sell the Pro and switch to mini if it’s what I’m hoping for.

The mini will be a true technological marvel. The smallest phone to support 5G, and a camera more capable than some of the top Android phones out there, and FaceID, and an OLED screen with very narrow bezels. Nerd heaven 😍!

I love the 12 mini so much that id even seriously consider to pay £1000 for it!

The mini is almost the perfect phone for me. I’ve never liked the curved-edge soap bar style of the iPhone 6/7/8, and those phones are also just sliiiiiightly too big for me to easily type one handed. I’d love to have the telephoto instead of the ultra wide, but it’s no big deal. I was hoping for slightly longer battery life, but I still think it will be way better than my iPhone 7 (with its 88% battery).

Where I live, I am supposed to be covered in 5G. I will soon find out how good the T-mobile map is when I get the mini. I hope Apple comes out with a mini smart battery case.
I’m sure they will. Naturally for this phone especially with a smaller battery.

I never said it wasn’t fantastic.
Just making the statement that the same screen tech has a different brightness. I personally think it was intentionally done to justify the Pro’s title. I’m hoping it’s fine but we won’t know either way until Friday at the soonest.
