The 7 matte black was my favorite ever. I am typically a classic white/silver fan with a few gold iPhones/watches but that matte was sleek! I passed it down to my wife when I got the X and it pained me to trade in the 7 plus to get her 11pro.

I might have a dilemma. My choice is the most popular (Graphite 128) but I have always managed to get my new phone as a release day delivery and if I can't get in quickly enough would I pay the extra £300 to jump to the 512?Happy to see my choice is one of the least popular (Graphite 512). Bodes well for me.
I do plan to change the format for my music stored locally on my iPhone from the current 128kbs AAC, possibly even all the way up to ALAC, so I will eventually need the extra space but was planning to start climbing the storage tiers next year because knowing me it'll take me a while to get round to doing the music format switch.
I guess I'll just play it by ear but if I can't get in in time for the 128 then I suspect that my answer is yes, I would jump to the 512. Jumping to the 256 probably wouldn't make much sense because that is pretty much tied with the 128 in popularity in this poll and precious minutes lost trying (and failing) to get a 256 might make all the difference in getting a release-day 512.
Lucky you not having that dilemma. Or silly me for being so impatient.

That will be quite a project! You probably know you can upgrade to 256 AAC in one jump by paying for an iTunes Match subscription ($25US/year, I think). You don’t need to keep the subscription running, you just need to log in and let the service “match” the music in your library with what’s in the iTunes/ Apple Music store. Then you can delete all the “matched” 128 kbps files and download the same tracks in 256.
Back on topic though … I’m going full contrarian this year and getting the Pro Max in silver. I got to this choice in a roundabout way, starting with Pacific Blue which everyone seems to love — but that’s how I felt last year about Midnight Green which has come to seem drab & tiresome over the course of a year, and I’m kind of worried that Pacific Blue would go the same way.
That led me to gold, because I had a gold 5S which may have been my favorite iPhone ever — but this new gold looks so bright and gleaming, and with the Pro Max there will be SO MUCH of it … and so I’ve gravitated to silver/white, which I’ve never had before, and I’m hoping it will look cool in a sort of minimalist way with a black MagSafe wallet.
A little bit, but rounded edges of xs max make this difference less noticeable for me. Regarding about “pocketable”, the difference in height is the big trade-off and the one because I’m debating about purchasing it.
Right I am still little bit concerned too. Don’t mind at all with handling it with two hands etc. But not been able to hold it in my pant pocket would be a real pain. I have been using pretty much all + and the 11 PM too and it was okay-ish almost 90% or the time when I put them in my pant pockets but from your pic it looks taller indeed and clearly protides from the pocket.
It's just occurred to me that the 12 Pro Max is not going to fit in the phone tray in my car - doh!

After much debating and actually getting the graphite pro (which I returned due to battery life) I am going with the same color I have for my 11 Pro Max white/silver. I just like the classy timeless look, I wanted to go gold and if I would have gone with the gold SS S6 I would've. Check this guys videos out of all the colors he unboxed, he actually showed what it look like using the phone while on the phone and texting. Good reviews!!!!
Current car lease about to end. Will be getting a 2021 Lincoln Aviator next. Funny you say this because last week when I went to dealer for test drive I actually took my Spigen 12PM case to test out cup holders and charging pad. Everything fit. I'm good. My current 11PM fits...12PM will fit too.
I was supplied with a charger cable when I bought my Tiguan Allspace - it has a right-angled connector and a braided cable. Not sure how much they charge for it though.
Surely the 12PM is slightly longer? Are you sure you will have enough room?
