We upgraded our two iPhones (iPhoneSE 1st gen and iPhone7) to two iPhone13minis. We like the smaller form factor and given the age of our earlier devices, an upgrade seemed useful. I’d already lost the headphone jack on the iPhone7 and actually like FaceID over TouchID. What we both miss, however, is the physical Home button. The swiping action is just annoying, and not nearly as quick or simple as pressing a button once to get from wherever one is buried in the menu system to, well, the Home screen. But we’ve adapted. Obviously the newer iPhones are faster, have more capacity, and support current iOS versions, so nice bumps there too.

Also upgraded se 1st gen to 13 mini. Apple seems to be going away from small phones, so did not want to wait any longer. Futureproof in another sense. Huge upgrade.
You can do "Virtual Home Button" to take place of physical home button, for those missing it.
Settings > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > Single Tap
Web search for further info. I use this all the time. Somewhat easier than having to physically press home key on se 1st gen.

It will last until the foldable iPhone comes out, which will satisfy all of us hoping to keep our phones small. There is no other comparable device on the market currently, it’s 1-of-1.
