cannot find the option to turn off the bluetooth for facebook. 14pro with iOS16.1b3
Its neither in settings->facebook , nor in settings->privacy->bluetooth.
I've Deleted, and reinstalled Facebook app. And somehow I don't see that Bluetooth setting anymore either. Odd. Wonder if it's a legacy from my Device-to-Device transfer.

In any case, I'm not seeing the background activity from Facebook anymore in the past 2 hrs. Will continue to monitor this. And if it comes to it, I don't really need FB app.

With my 14PM, I have AOD on, haptics on, background refresh on, all location services on, etc and I'm usually at around 65% at supper time (get up at 6am). On my 13 Pro, I'd be around 40%.

Haptic on. AOD on since launch day pick up. Using my 14PM like I used my 13PM. After a week later with the 14PM and indexing finished the battery life now it’s awesome.

This is good right? Coming from a mini I am easily impressed, but 7 hours SOT and only 50% battery used 🙂
Got the phone yesterday (14 pro max)

16.1 beta 3 is a godsend for me. Previously Battery Grapher was estimating 12-13 hours total battery and now it's closer to 27-30h, which was where my 13 PM was
I heard about that to. the first 2 beta for 16.1 was really aweful. I noticed it on my iphone 13 mini. But after installing beta 3, it's back to normal. Even my friend noticed this as well on his 14 pm.

Not been happy with the battery drain that the AOD uses on the 14 Pro Max, coming from the 13 Pro Max I was losing 15% to 20% more per day than my previous phone. Facebook is not my issue and I even tried the AOD with a basic background image and no widgets as a test, made no difference. The home screen was always the biggest battery usage under the battery menu.

Ended up switching it off and that improved my battery life back what I'm used to, I use the Apple watch almost 24/7 so the AOD is not that much use to me anyway and the battery hit for it so definitely not worth it. Apple's version of the AOD is poor as far as I'm concerned, it's far too bright and why the hell do I need to see the full background image, lighting up pixels for no reason and wasting power.

And this was on iOS 16.0.1 and 16.1 Beta 3.

Battery life for me has been great.

Charged to 100% around 3am Saturday morning.
Off charger till 5pm Sat evening.
Drove to the store at 5pm on the car charger for 20 minute round trip drive.
Off car charger at approximately 5:20pm
1:43 am Sunday morning battery at 57%
Have barely put the phone down all day. AOD always on. iOS 16.0.2

Besides the 20 min drive I’ve been off charger approximately 22 hrs. I’m still at 57% Battery.

Found something interesting. Looks like this is mostly from Facebook/Meta apps. If you look at the activity, it’s Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. All Meta apps.

And others are observing this issue with FB app. It’s using Bluetooth beacon in the background, and they suggested turning it off kills the background activity.

To stop the background activites on my 14PM, i went to settings, facebook, notifications, turned Show Previews to NEVER and it hasn't ran in the background since.

My battery life has been good. This is my first iPhone since the 8+, I came from the OnePlus 8T 5G and would say this 14PM usually has about +20-25% more battery life at the end of the day. I don't game but on Sundays, texting with friends/family about football and checking players on Sleeper app, I can definitely kill the 14PM. I do miss the Warp Charging from the 8T as charging this phone while OFF for 43min (29% to 74%) only nets me 45% battery life (Anker 30w PD charger and cable).

I've been keeping track of usage this is my average:

Last 10 days
Screen On Time average = 6hr 8min
Avg Screen Idle average = 1hr 30min

Off charger
Average 16hrs, average ending battery % = 55%

Settings:

Pure black wallpaper and AoD is on, idle 8 hours overnight loses 3-4% battery

Raise to wake off
Air drop off
blutetooth off
wifi seeking off
Background Refresh off (for most things except Sleeper)
Mail is manual refresh only
Auto-brightness on
low data mode on
location services (mostly off, none are always)
optimize charging on (but I don't think it's working for me)

Moved to a 14 pro max from a 13 pro max. Used to charge it every 4 days. Very light user. Now cannot last 2 full days with same apps and same usage or even less.

Always on display is off.

This is really bad. I'm getting even less battery than when I had the 12 pro max.

Something is wrong in IOS16 or the hardware.

Not trying to start a #batterygate but I’ve had 2 different 14 PM. The first one had absolutely terrible battery life, couldn’t even make it a day with my usage. And now the replacement has my days ending around 50%.

Setup the same way (fresh install), using the same apps, and same iOS version.

Very weird…but obviously my observations arent very qualitative.

I don’t know what y’all doing to get bad battery life. My 14 PM has been great.
I’m going 30 hours plus before I even think about charging. AOD has been on since 9/16.

Wait till 16.1. 16.02 currently still has plethora of issues. 16.1 is supposed to fix battery drain issues. My friend has the 14 pro max, when he had the 16.1 beta 1 &2, battery life was horrible, but when he has beta 3, he noticed much improvements. Nothing changed on his end.

I do have iphone 13 mini as a beta testing so i can attest to that as well. on 16.1 beta 1 & 2, battery life was horrid. Even with the magsafe battery pack, it only lasted not even a day. With 16.1 beta 3 (i'm on public, so no 4 yet), it's a godsend and does get me 2-3 days.

I‘m going top wait for 16.1.
If this does not bring significant improvments I will get a replacement.
Still not sure wether it‘s hardware or software.

For me it feels like SoC or display is not correctly clocking down.
On my 14 Pro Max it makes no difference wether I use AOD or let the iPhone sit unlocked on homescreen.
Battery usage is identical, draining 1%+ every 20 minutes doing nothing.

I had a 13 Pro Max. I could go 2 full days on one charge. With the 14 Pro Max, I just tried to go 2 days like usual ending last night and the phone shut off on me hours before the 13 PM would have been put on the charger. For whatever thats worth.

I do have the always on display on. I like it. Not sure which uses more, the constant using my phone as a watch and tapping the screen OR just having the time displayed all the time. Maybe will experiment with it to see how turning it off impacts my situation.

Coming from a 12PM. My 14PM does not have a great battery life so far but I was using way less the 12PM as I had 2 iPhone. Pro and personal. I opted for the eSim on the personal side and physical sim for my pro line (yes I am in Europe). I also have the AOD activated. I like it. So definitely hard to compare and maybe the double sim drains the battery a bit faster.

6h screen on time and 25% battery remaining. It sucks… but again my use case is : AOD on, a lot of calls, 2 sims/carriers…emails, browsing and several work apps.
