iPhone 15 Pro iPhone 15 Pro to iPhone 18 "enough"? Or go for Pro?

My iPhone 15 Pro is on the struggle bus, so I'll likely upgrade this cycle. However, I'm hearing the rumoured price in Canada for the iPhone 18 Pro could be as high as $1700+ before tax. That is INSANE to me for a phone. So I may wait for the iPhone 18 to come out instead. However, coming from a 15 Pro to a "base" 18...is it going to be much of an upgrade? From what I gather, the iPhone 18 will have more RAM and storage than the 15 Pro, a higher MP ultrawide lens, higher MP front camera, and A20 vs A17 chip. Will I notice the difference in the missing third camera?

You'll have to wait until probably around Spring of next year for the regular 18 and I echo the sentiment above of what's going on in the bus you are struggling on? Is it a battery thing? Storage? Did you just beat the sh*t out of it? Gotta be more specific...

Just replaced the battery in my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Great phone, and couldn't tell the difference in store between the 17 Pro and the 15 Pro.

It’s prone to overheating. My battery health is 85% but it still drains quickly if I’m using it even just surfing and listening to music during the day. It’ll have trouble connecting to wifi at times even when my husband beside me is fine (same model).

I changed out the battery in my 15 Pro with a SUNWODA 3400mAh high capacity diagnostic compatible battery and it has performed perfectly after the battery service. Yes the 15 Pro, even the 15 Pro Max, tends to heat up a little depending on what you're doing. In my case, it get's warm every time I do a big iOS update on my device or long YouTube video binging . . . but under normal use have not experienced any overheating issue and I am running iOS 27 Developer Beta 5 on mine and has been running perfect for my use case.

The standard 18 will absolutely slaughter the 15 Pro in performance with the only downside being a lack of ultra wide camera.

If there is more to your issues than simply a depleted battery, you should definitely consider this upgrade.

Slaughter is a bit of an exaggeration, my 17 Pro is honestly not that much faster than my 15 Pro in normal day to day stuff.
