Ok, final verdict on the sheath. Grip is better, however, it is heavier which causes a bit of hand pain for me, and the no CC button is getting to me more than I expected. Like it to be covered like on the apple silicone.

Back to the silicone, going to initiate a return.

got my dbrand grip today. the cc button is great (from the guy who liked the supcase button). i’ve had a grip case for the past several years. haven’t ever used for very long as i find the weird shape disturbing after a while. why do i keep ordering? idk. 🤷 i love the feel of the case and the grip. i also love the ability to swap the skins and get a new look. i’ll post some pics of my skin and the case tomorrow.

Totally agree, such an underrated case esp in the Rustic Brown

Not a very high bar to set for leather. If you are speaking of the later Apple leather cases that is. If you are speaking of the iPhone 11 series and below, Nomad can’t come close to touching those. In fact Ryan London open bottom and Bullstrap leather run circles around Nomad.

Nomad is a serviceable leather case, but certainly not elite.

Nomad use real horween leather, Apple doubt very much even for 11 and below.
Had them since the 5s always a sticky mess especially in summer.

You’re going to find it very difficult to convince most anyone around here that Nomad (even with what they call “Horween”), was better than Apple’s leather in its prime. Also, hate to tell you but when your case starts to get patina, it’s going to become more “sticky” too. That’s just part of the process.

I do like those aramid type cases but one thing that puts me off is the sharper than normal edges and finger fatigue. Maybe it’ll work long term with a pair of driving gloves on as well ? 😆

Has anyone used one of these MagSafe plates like Labodet or similar? Looking for a decent minimalist one but cant find a good company that doesnt charge $$$$ for it...

Something like this: Nomad Case

Hey, take this post to the "Driving Gloves for iPhone cases" thread!
Indeed 😂. I’m thinking the likes of Benks or similar with its TPU sides may help with the finger fatigue as opposed to wearing gloves.

Anyone have any experiences with Aramid 1500 cases that have the silicon or TPU sides ? Cheers.

Great shout. Thanks!

I ran the Pitaka Pro on my 15PM last year. A very nice case, with super build quality, generally comfortable in the hand, though that particular year model was squared off too sharply on the back. This year’s version has resolved that issue but introduced others. Bulkier than the ultra slim models of course, but softer in the hand for sure. The big downside to most, if not all, of the hybrid aramid/TPU cases is that they have that smooth matte finish which shows every fingerprint and smudge. If you’re not up to wiping the case three times a day, it’s going to look greasy. This is much less of a problem on the thinner cases with more surface texture protruding through the finish.

Apple's own cases should be dominating the case market. So why don't they?

It's the terrible slippery, fingerprint-laden, lint-collecting silicon they use. That's why.

Apple should make a vegan leather case already. So dumb for them not to.
Yup. The closest thing to what you’re describing is the Otterbox Cactus Leather Symmetry. It’s unfathomable to me that OB doesn’t offer that case with their excellent camera control button.

Disagree. Not trying to convince anyone lol.
Personally I only buy black so patina is not a big issue.
Have had nomad horween cases and folios for years, my wife just had a 12 pro max brown folio for 3 years no stickiness at all.

Apple leather was always cheap.

All the leather except a couple of cheap. But if you have anything other than black, you could see that Nomad doesn’t patina like the Apple cases did. You can call them cheap if you like, but Nomad is not high quality leather either.
