Ringke Onyx is impressive!

I’ve gotten so picky with “regular” cases since I’ve been all in with the Benks ArmorAir and I’ve tried multiple then returned them and never liked them more than my ArmorAir but the Ringke Onyx has impressed me.

I wouldn’t say it dethrones the ArmorAir as I will always love the ultra thin style but this is the only regular case that I actually do like and will keep and definitely will get again for the 17 series (if they add the CC it’ll be perfect IMO).

The fitment is super tight all around! The buttons feel great. The textured tapered corners feel so nice. No fingerprint issue whatsoever. The CC cutout doesn’t feel intrusive at all and I love the camera bump design. It’s also not super heavy being right around 40g which is a plus!

My daily driver since last week.

My 16 Pro feels like 16 Air.

Just put the Onyx Camo back on and noticed I have a scratch on the lower back :( I'm guessing the plain black will hold up better as I believe the camo finish is just sprayed on over the plain black case. Still not bad after 30 plus days of daily use.

Tried that Torras O-Ring case as well, perfectly okay case but for £39.99 its going back.

Buttons are good but rattle, fingerprint magnet on the frosty back as well.

Stand mechanism and hinge feels pretty robust but the stand itself feels quite flimsy, just not sure the quality of materials is there for £40.

Back to the TineeOwl I go

Back in the Mous with the highly engineered button

Without the phone in the case you can literally blow on the button and it falls right out. Can't believe they built the case around a 99 cent button :(

I've ended up settling this year on the Caudabe Veil in the clear/frosted colour. I have the white back so love to see it through the case.

Are there any similar cases worth trying? Always like to test!

I see the onyx comes in two options magsafe and non magsafe. Which version are you boys using? Want to give the onyx a go.
If you’re wired into the ultra thin mindset like I am it definitely won’t dethrone it.

I went out last night and felt the extra bulk/weight of the case in my pockets and just handling it.

I’m back into my Aurora ArmorAir today and it just feels so nice!

Nonetheless the Ringke Onyx is a great case but I’m so into the ultra thins that it’s hard to rock anything else for too long.

I hear ya sir. I just went back into a silicone from apple. Was able to get one for cheap and I must say I was wrong about the hill I stood on regarding the fit around the CC button this one is perfect and I’m enjoying it.

With that said I miss the feel of the pitaka. Just ordered a latercase as well 😂
