Wow, it got quiet in here all of a sudden. Here’s a little gem to liven things up. This is such a great case, so minimal and clean. The only problem is the usual aramid smudges.

So I have two cases that has the buttons in separate pieces that is what you meant by floating buttons right?

Usually they are separate from the main part of the case.
IMO, I'm guessing that a floating button can either be removable or attached to the case. An example would be the Apple leather cases. The button is sealed all around the perimeter of the button, but is not removable - unless you break the case.

A slit button would have some space between the case and the button somewhere around the perimeter of the button.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... ;)

That’s essentially correct. I would add that slit buttons are made from the same material as the case, and are actually molded as part of the case, as is most often seen on inexpensive TPU and silicone cases.

Got it.

My Kate Spade case for 15 Pro had slits like that instead of the buttons being in separate pieces and being super easy to click on.

A closer look at a slit styled button:image.jpg

I wonder if the black/blue monogram tactile woven would have less smudges… love this thin case but smudges drive me crazy lol

Most likely yes. The colored Pitakas I have are much better in this regard. I wish they made a black/gray with the more textured surface of the Tactile Woven models, which I believe would be better.

Mine came like that as well. Take the case off and push the button in and out gently a little. That should take care of it.
