In Technically Tee's latest video, he says the Nomad Rugged is one of his favourite cases, but in his reply to me a couple of days ago about the case, he said he was not a fan of the Nomad Rugged because he hates the way Nomad cases fit. So which is it then?

That just proves you can't take any YouTubers opinions seriously and they are just saying what these companies/brands want to hear and what will get them the views!
He might have changed his mind between when he replied to you and when he recorded the video hahaha 🤣

Nonetheless, I usually take a pinch of salt to what cases he likes or rank high blah blah. Most importantly are the fit test, pull test and MagSafe test etc. which I use to determine whether the case is ideal for me 😃

I reviewed bicycles as a side gig for 10 years. My website had paid sponsors, and manufacturers sent me bikes to review, some of which were returned, others I was told to keep. I was not paid to review the bikes, though obviously it was important to stay in good standing with the manufacturers; I needed to keep the review bikes coming and pissing off manufacturers was counter productive to say the least. So while I tried my best to remain unbiased, in retrospect it was nearly impossible. Whether they admit it or not, I suspect many YouTube tech reviewers are in the same predicament.

Thanks for this take. I can't imagine people remaining completely impartial.

I think I’m done for this year; I’ve lost all interest in waiting on third-party cases with camera control buttons (what an effed up year it’s been). Just ordered a backup black Apple Silicone to go with the black and stone gray I already have, and will probably keep a pair of ultra thin Pitakas. Everything else is either already returned or currently in transit. I’ll be checking in to get my case fix, but won’t likely have anything new to show for the foreseeable future.
Still over here completely satisfied with my Benks ArmorAir. I ordered an ArmorTint arriving tomorrow. I check in here regularly as I like to read people’s posts and see photos but there’s nothing else that I personally care for.

What is the consensus on the top 3 cases, not including the leather ones?
  1. Caudabe Sheath with camera control button
  2. Phone Rebel Gen 6 with camera control button
  3. Mous Limitless 6 with camera control button
Oh wait, none of those exist. Here’s my revised list:
  1. Apple Silicone, black
  2. Apple Silicone, stone gray
  3. Apple Silicone, denim
(Sorry for being such a smart@ss).

Black titanium is so nice with stone gray, natty also looks excellent with those colors.

I cannot see this thread surpassing last years Case Thread.

That CC button/cut-out killed the vibes.

Last year's thread was the biggest one so far with 647 pages and still going.

Roll on iPhone 17 series.

I hope third party manufacturers can get their act together sharpish i.e if CC button is here to stay.

I think that's me out as well unless Caudabe can get that CC button on them Sheaths.

Seems to me that there's not really much consensus this year, versus last year (even considering the FineWoven debacle). I've mostly been leaning towards the Apple OEM cases especially taking into account the CC button situation, and pleasantly surprised by the Clear case this year. I think Apple missed out by not replacing the leather cases with a viable option. The Nomad cases IMO are the next best fitting cases on the 15/16 series phones, but their CC button implementation is not ideal. Plus, their leather cases are inexplicably larger than their sport cases. Just my two cents.

I previously posted that I have a Nomad Modern Leather case that is nice, but I really dislike the ribbed edges around the camera button because that makes it hard to use that button.

I just received a Nomad Traditional Leather case and can report that it is nice, but the cutout around the camera button is quite large which means that area has little protection against a fall.

I also have a Spigen Tough Armor T AI case and it has a cover over the camera button that works quite well. That cover actually makes it easier to use the camera button. This case will be my main case, and I will not buy any more cases that don’t have a cover for the camera button.

Is the Apple silicon a lint magnet or not?

Does it pick up micro particles you can see?

I like the feeling of it but silicon is such a turn off when it picks up mucho micro dust and lint particles.

Has anybody heard any news regarding Pitaka’s fix for the screen lip issue? I thought they were giving it a higher lip to protect the screen.

They’re shipping the improved Military Grade models now. I was told it’s best to order direct as they (Pitaka) can’t ensure that the old Amazon stock has sold through.

It’s a lint magnet. Always, always tradeoffs. The good news is that the lint blows off easily; attempting to wipe it off though, is a different matter.

Damn. AS Feels so silky in the hands. Was so tempted. But I have too much blackberry pearl PTSD lint dust trauma from Otter box cases back in the day.

Love my Rebel G6 to go to a lint magnet.

Lint (silicone) vs grease (aramid). It seems there’s no perfect solution. The Caudabe Sheath is probably the best in this regard.

Have not felt any greasy G6 fallout yet.

I see a few pics in Amazon reviews of total separation. But Rebel sent them a new case. This is the only thing worrying me. I had to replace Presidio cases yearly due to plastic cutout chips. I’m forecasting or anticipating G6 issues but not sure what kind. No cases are bulletproof and degrade in some way after time.

G6 seems pricey at $50 but so far nothing else feels better for me.

If it degrades bad within 6 months that will be a bummer. Presidios were easy to replace around $25. But garbage compared to G6.

The Gen 5 was among my favorite cases last year. Since I’m a prolific CC button user I’ve sworn off cutout cases, but I definitely miss the Phone Rebel. I don’t have plans to order any more cases this year, but a Gen 6 with a button could be hard to resist.
