I had an Arc Pulse on my 15. The problem with the bare iPhone is its slipperiness. That “case” doesn’t help with grip in any way. I love the idea and it will protect the iPhone when dropped onto flat surfaces. It just doesn’t add any grip to help keep you from dropping.
Actually it adding grip for me. I can use both Arc Pulse parts like support for my fingers. So if phone start to slipping from my hand, it always stops at bottom part of case.
I must say, that my previous iP14PM has better grip because of polished frames. Titanium is fine, but it's more matte.

I also mentioned when I have very dry fingers (typically outside when it's cold there) my Pitaka cases are very slippery. This is not happening wit naked phone and Arc Pulse.

Arc Pulse also make bigger distance between phone and table (when laying on it on both sides) so I can grab it more comfortable.

I think I will swapping time to time Arc and Pitaka. But thanks to Camera Control button I much prefer Arc and definitely not bulky cases without own CC buttons with just cutout.

Arc Pulse Graphite on desert titanium.

Waiting for Rose Bronze...
Oh wow! That looks great with the Desert Titanium. I wonder how it would look with White Titanium. Judging from the videos I've seen, it is effective at protecting the iPhone. If I do get an iPhone 16 Pro I'll definitely consider this. I am planning to go caseless with AppleCare+.

I’m looking at ordering a Pitaka Tactical Woven case, but now wondering whether the Military Grade is worth the higher cost.

Another question…how is the “grippyness” of these cases?

Thanks for any help.

The Tactical Woven (TW) and Military Grade (MG) cases are of two different classes: ultra-thin, and protective. I’d suggest choosing whichever best meets your needs, regardless of price. Here are a few thoughts on both:

The TW is a super minimal case which is designed to provide a modicum of protection while feeling as much like a bare phone as possible. Though Pitaka doesn’t make any claims, anecdotally the TW does seem to provide a small amount of drop protection, but its primary function is to prevent scratches and minor dings. If you’ve never dropped your phone, or only do so on the rare occasion, and you also have AppleCare+, the TW might be your perfect case. In my opinion, it really does feel sublime in the hand.

On the other hand, the MG is more akin to “normal” cases that are designed to protect from mid-level drops (say under 2 meters). It has an aramid shell molded over a TPU core which completely encases the phone. It should protect the phone from just about any drop in normal circumstances (not talking about rock climbing, etc). Naturally, with the extra protection comes extra bulk, which makes the phone feel wider, deeper, and heavier (the MG is nearly twice as heavy as the TW). If you frequently drop your phone the MG would be a better choice, but you’ll lose that case-less feel of the TW which can be so appealing to some.

Regarding grip, the TW has better grip than the MG. It also shows less fingerprints and smudges. You can feel the texture of the aramid through the finish on the TW, whereas the MG is more heavily coated with a smooth finish that is more slippery while also showing more fingerprints.

One other difference is that the TW provides better access to the camera control than the MG.

That’s my two cents, I’m sure others will have opposing opinions.

Got the Torras ultra slim. Really nice minimal case with folding camera bump. Useful!

Quick change from the Torras. Now back in the Air2. Excellent case. Still my favourite of all the slim cases with excellent grip. However you can see the MagSafe ring slightly. Not an issue for me but might be for others.
