I checked out the Spigen Magfit Hybrid T
The Spigen Ultra Hybrid T also has a white CC button cover. The case is just as good as the official Apple one if not better and it’s much cheaper.
Tried it but had a horrible experience with the CC button. It was slower and glitchier than the Apple cases. Even at $20 it’s not worth it IMO.

That’s not going to happen. Apple has clearly decided to discontinue any leather accessories for synthetic materials.
Right. Perhaps I should’ve worded it differently. I hope they will release an alternative to their leather cases next year. There has to be a more premium feeling material out there than the FineWoven mess.

Thanks for those that mentioned the tineeowl cases. Snagged a stone one for 12 bucks and I’m really impressed for the price. The neutral color case paired with a matte protector has been a game changer for my dumb phone iPhone setup.

I also really like the texture and rounded sides more than I thought I would.
I don't know if it's just that photo, but that color looks so much better (to me) than the images on Amazon.

Unrelated but what screen protector is that?

I was messing around on Amazon and came upon this interesting case that I had not seen before.
The upsides:
- running at $9 right now and it’s a steal at that price
- the frosted back is really nice to the touch and shows now fingerprints so far
- the sides are super grippy and comfortable in hand
- very thin and snug but not slippery at all

The only downsides I can find are:
- CC cutout has a super flimsy side that could easily get torn over time
- there is no lip around the screen with a screen protector installed (personally I like that because it makes it easier to swipe and type)

For a backup case this will do just fine.

I basically upgraded the Sheath in a Mous way. I bought an Ali sillicon camera control button (it is VERY sensitive, just as good as Spigen’s) and put it in the cutout. Of course, the edge of the case has a very small bulge now. But it’s ok. :)
Am I missing something, because it doesn’t seem like this solves anything? The problem with pill-shaped cutouts is that they’re uncomfortable and they make it difficult to reach the capacitive surface. Placing a button under the case doesn’t mitigate at all for either of these issues.

There must have been something wrong with your particular case. In my experience, and almost unanimously from various reports, the Spigen button is very close to on par with the Apple button.

I ran the Pitaka Pro on my 15PM last year. A very nice case, with super build quality, generally comfortable in the hand, though that particular year model was squared off too sharply on the back. This year’s version has resolved that issue but introduced others. Bulkier than the ultra slim models of course, but softer in the hand for sure. The big downside to most, if not all, of the hybrid aramid/TPU cases is that they have that smooth matte finish which shows every fingerprint and smudge. If you’re not up to wiping the case three times a day, it’s going to look greasy. This is much less of a problem on the thinner cases with more surface texture protruding through the finish.
I thought the Pitaka Pro and the ultra slim version had the exact same finish on the back (600D aramid). Hence they accumulate the same amount of smudges/fingerprints. Am i wrong? 🤔

In stating, “…the thinner cases with more surface texture protruding through the finish”, I was referring specifically to the Tactile Woven cases, which are 1500D and more textured. You are correct, the 600D black/gray UltraSlim has the same finish as the Pro.

Perhaps. Tried them both side by side and wasn’t even close. Maybe the alignment was off.

Something was definitely off. I did a bunch of A/B testing when they first came out and the Spigen was nearly indistinguishable from the Apple (couldn’t tell if there was actually a difference or if it was placebo). The Otterbox was a close second, the Supcase wasn’t in the ballpark.

looks nice - does it look like the interior has potential to scratch the device in short term?

Yeah I feel like the color is much nicer in person than in the Amazon photos. Not sure exactly how accurate my photos are but the color is better for sure.

I just want a simpleton, black Otterbox Symmetry with either a decent CC cutout, or a CC button. Is that so much to ask.

The shark bite cut out is not working for me; or anyone else. Cmon Otterbox do better…

Doesn’t seem like it. It reminds me of the material used by Smartish and Ringke.

Ooof I tried a smartish gripzilla I think and one time putting it on the sharp edges made some of the black stainless steel flake off

I dunno if I had a defective case or not but sent it right on back

Is it like a soft TPU or polycarbonate?

It’s all really smooth on the inside and outside. It’s comfortable to hold. PCU back and TPU sides. It fits the frame of my 16PM really well.
Plus I just noticed the MagSafe ring is built into the PCU rather than a sticker on the inside of the case. Very neat.

The crazy thing is that Otterbox already has a good button. It would seem to be simple enough for them to do what you, me, and everyone else is asking for. I’m betting they’re sitting on mountains of dead stock with those massive cutouts, unable or unwilling to move forward until they sell through some percentage of it.

You’re probably right. They have like 5 million units and are like “uhhh what do we do” lol. But Otterbox is A. Big enough to absorb it, and B. in bed with Apple so they have no excuse to not have been ready at drop with something better than the bite. Even a regular cut out like the Sheath or something.

That’s interesting. From my experience using the official Apple clear case and the Spigen the difference was negligible if at all there. The Spigen was pretty close to the Apple one if not the same. 🤔

I grabbed one of these fake leather cases off AliX.

£12 total and honestly, it’s a top case.

Feels like leather, decent magnets, clicky buttons, very slim and tight fitting, working CC button. A great find and I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re struggling for a closed bottom, CC covered leather case. Patina process and smell aside, I think you’ll struggle to tell it’s fake.

I just found this on AliExpress: £6.63 | High-end Retro Oil Wax Pattern Strong Magnetic For Magsafe Leather Case For iPhone 15 14 Plus 13 16 Pro Max Camera Button Cover
