Okay... I just got it in to DFU mode. Here's the timing:

  1. Plug in to Mac or PC (I was at work and so only had the PC available, but it had the Apple Devices app installed)
  2. Quick press and release the Up Volume
  3. Quick press and release the Down Volume
  4. Press and hold the Power button
  5. When the Low Battery screen goes away, immediately press and hold the Down Volume
  6. I waited another two or three seconds and released the Power button while still holding the Down Volume
  7. After a couple more seconds, the PC screen showed that it had a device in DFU mode
I really hope this helps. The timing is in the #5 and #6.

Currently downloading the "iPhone Software Update". I'm on slow internet at work so this may take some time
Thanks. I think I accidentally double clicked Down Volume button which got it to work. Could just be coincidental.

Anyone here have this issue and was subsequently able to successfully install the beta after a restore?

I've tried three times to install the beta on my 15PM and all three have failed. It's not painful to go through the process of restoring iOS 18, which is why I've persisted, so it's been more a frustrating experience than anything. Will wait for either the second developer beta, or maybe even the public beta.

Apple just released a revised version of iOS 26. Successfully installed it on one of our 15 Pros. Prior to that I attempted to install it twice early this week and the phone was stuck in "charge battery" screen as well. Had to restore to iOS 18.5 in DFU mode. Glad Apple released an update quickly for developers so we can start testing with 15s and 16s.
