Fair. Haven't played with non-DSLR cameras for a whileNot even DSLR to be honest - even most compact cameras had it.
I can tell you right now that as someone with accessibility needs, tapping the screen to focus and or zoom isn’t always as easy as you make it sound. How does a two-step button work better than tapping on the screen to focus and then clicking the button to take the picture? Seems kind of pointless.
The leaker added that the debut of the Capture Button reinforces the iPhone's pivot toward photography.
Essentially every standalone camera does this. Nothing “high end” about it, I guess it’s just been so long some people have forgotten how cameras work. Most DSLRs have this. I wouldn't say high-end; Just any DSLR really
My Leica doesn’t do this. I think most would consider that to be high-end. Either way you slice it, the “high-end” descriptor is pretty stupid.Essentially every standalone camera does this. Nothing “high end” about it, I guess it’s just been so long some people have forgotten how cameras work.
Now Apple is putting them back because they ran out of ideas...
I much prefer rounded corners like the S24 and S24+. I’m skipping the 16 series waiting to see what the 17 has if it doesn’t have a refresh and more than cameras and CPU upgrades then I’m looking at the S26+. I’ll go back to Apple when they have their stuff togetherThe 16 Pro and Pro Max are also expected to be virtually the same, with minor performance and camera improvements with this new capture button. Not exactly exciting.
I love my 15 Pro Max, but the S24 Ultra is a much more impressive phone. Better cameras that are more versatile, bigger better display, S-Pen, better AI, better multitasking, and now essentially equal performance with comparable ray tracing.

because when you tap screen you most likely will shake it.How does a two-step button work better than tapping on the screen to focus and then clicking the button to take the picture? Seems kind of pointless.
Which model would that be? My M10 definitely activates and holds the exposure meter on tapping the shutter button. Of course, it cannot auto-focus anywayMy Leica doesn’t do this. I think most would consider that to be high-end. Either way you slice it, the “high-end” descriptor is pretty stupid.
