Right I just meant TW is definitely better than TineeOwl that would have have been a downgrade imo
Variety is the spice of life, as they say. I enjoy having different types of high quality cases, and switching between them on a regular basis, which keeps it fresh (my needs can change from day-to-day as well). I think this new TO v.2 is among the better cases on the market (especially for the price), and is not a downgrade from Apple/Beats cases in terms of quality. Of course, if one is comparing on weight or thinness alone, it won’t win any battles. Just my $.02... 😊

Additional thoughts on this new Tineeowl:
  • Camera control button is hard to press unless you kind of point your thumb into it, more like a precise press instead of a broader press like with the TW
It’s actually easy to press and not an issue on the Air, but that may be a difference between the Pro and Air versions. I’m also left handed, so pressing with fingertips instead of the thumb may be the difference.

  • Buttons are good but they do rattle
Bummer about your buttons rattling. On the Air they move just a tiny bit, but they don’t audibly rattle.

  • Face of case moves a bit when pressing above the camera control area
  • I don't like swiping from the edges because the case is raised on the face (I have a Torras Origarmor so my screen is raised up)
  • Kinda thick (took a picture comparing the Tineeowl v2, TW, Moft, and Ghost)
  • Grip isn't very good (Sheath def felt better)
Regarding the grip, I’m generally not a fan of the overly aggressive texture they’ve been putting on the Sheath in recent years and prefer the softer touch of the TO. I have a Sheath coming, it’ll be interesting to compare the finishes directly—I’m open to being convinced otherwise.

Anyone used the Smartish Gripmunk case?

I've been using the Spigen Rugged Armor case and whilst it's good, I am finding the whole case a bit too abrasive. But I like the grip it gives so am hoping the Smartish Gripmunk will be better?

Hi everyone! I'm planning to get the Spigen Ultra Hybrid T MagFit (Glossy White) for my silver iPhone 17 Pro Max. Since it's a clear case with a hard back, I'm worried about it being scratch-prone. Does anyone have experience with this case? Specifically, does dust getting trapped inside cause micro-scratches on the frame over time? Thanks!

I’ve had one, you’ll be fine with scratches unless your really chuck it about and dust I didn’t have a problem with but if you work in a dusty environment you might get some. I sent it back as the back felt boxy in the hand, wasn’t comfy to hold compared to the ultra hybrid zero one and/or the neo one.

Been busy ordering other type of cases.

Nice! What do you ride?

I gave it up about 10 years ago. I figured I'd had my fun and survived and decided to hang up my helmet. I do miss it from time to time, but drivers have gotten insane here and I just don't trust them to not kill me.

I started out on a cruiser but pretty quickly went to sport bikes. Yamaha was my flavor of choice. First an FZ6 then stepped up to an FZ1.

I ordered one from Woot for $5 a few days ago. It arrives tomorrow and I can take pics once it arrives.

I wish Caudabe kept their Lucid Clear cases. They were the best cases and did not yellow. I went through some old cases I had when I moved last month and threw out my lucid clear case from my 12PM and it was still clear.

I never said anything in terms of quality. I did make sure to say “imo”. I know everyone’s opinion is different. For me a heavier, bulkier case simply feels like a downgrade as it’s not my cup of tea that’s all, just preferences.

Looking forward to your comparison of Sheath vs TO v.2 😉

TinneeOwl v2 (iPhone Air) — Quick Thoughts

Good news; they fixed the fit, at least on the Air. It’s very good now, similar to the 16PM version. The material is softer than the Sheath, so the fit is a bit less tight and more Apple Silicone-like, which is not a bad thing for those of us who change cases frequently. I doubt it’s as protective as the PR or Mous, but it seems likely to be on par with the Sheath, and perhaps better than the Apple. At 48 grams it’s pretty heavy, but not overly so compared to other full coverage cases (the Gen 7 is 50 grams).

The form factor and fit remind me of the Apple Silicone, but with a more pronounced texture and zero fingerprints. Rounded edges, no sharp seams, and just enough texture without feeling like you’re holding a brick—really nice. Imagine the Sheath and Apple Sili had a baby.

The new metal buttons and camera control are excellent, on par with Caudabe, Phone Rebel, Beats, etc. As @KentuckyHouse pointed out, the camera control is inset a bit, which is good or bad depending upon your preference (being a lefty, I prefer a small amount of inset to help prevent ghost activations).

Here are a few pics. I find it to be an attractive case, very stealthy and understated. I’m anxious to compare it directly with the Sheath to see if it actually deserves the “Sheath Killer” moniker that gets thrown around. My Sheath is scheduled to arrive later this week, so we’ll see.

48g Air case? That's almost half of phone weight itself? Ridiculous 🤣🤣

All of the protective cases are in that weight range. There’s nothing ridiculous about it if you need the protection. Not everyone sits at a desk all day… 🙄
I understand it with classic iPhone or PRO for people working outside, or people who often gives it's phones to kids 😄.
But this is not point of iPhone Air IMHO. Who will buy ultraslim and lightweight phone and then put on it 48g case? This just not giving sense to me.
I'm working in office, but my phone not sitting on desk all day. I'm runner, often going for hikes, but still I don't need "tank" case.
Thats my opinion on this.
