Now, Amazon is throwing this crap on my UAG return 🙁 what the hell is an estimated damage fee?
It's the exact POS case they sent me.

Seems like a way to charge a restocking fee without calling it a restocking fee. The twisted irony is that they sent me 4 cases this year that were sold as new, but were actually returns (you can tell by the barcode sticker). When I see the Amazon return lines at Whole Foods I guess I’m not surprised they are cracking down.

What do you guys choose when returning to Amazon? Refund to your card/payment method of choice or refund as balance to your Amazon account? Because I usually choose the latter and that seems to bypass the „you’ve returned too much stuff“ message. Because I have returned a lot of cases in the past months and never got a slap on the wrist for it. At least so far. *knocks on wood*

I have always chosen the 1. one (refund to your card/payment method of choice).

The black Caudabe Synthesis is back in stock will probably pull the trigger but have a question.

I was surprised that its 42 grams (iPhone 17P) it seemed lighter. Would you guys say it’s a slimmer profile than the TineeOwl Dune or are they similar? Hard to justify a $50 case if the goal is to go slimmer and lighter.
Anybody? 🤔

I got a similar message from Amazon (3 months ago), after I sent the 3rd iPhone 17 PM back there...🫣😬🤣 After this email, I didn't dare to send anything back. I'll wait a few more months with the next return.
They usually only cause trouble when you send really high-priced things back again and again (like me). But someone here must have sent back 30 low-priced things, which is probably the same for Amazon. 🤣🤣🤣

I always go for “refund to account”, hoping that gives me a bit more leeway. I feel like I push it to the limit, but so far, so good (knocks on wood). I’m guessing there is an equation that factors in your annual spending, prime membership status, etc., though who knows. We give them enough of our hard earned dollars, that’s for sure.

I think the Synthesis and Tineeowl are pretty comparable when it comes to bulk, and the weight difference is only a few grams. The biggest differences to me are the rigidity of the case and the shape.

The synthesis is much more rigid, and the sides/back are squared off. Some people have said on this thread that the synthesis feels bulky, I think it still feels fairly slim. The Tineeowl is much more rounded on the sides and edges, and the material is more flexible. Maybe to some this makes it feel a bit bulkier. Hard to go wrong either way but if price matters, the TO is almost 1/2 the cost.

I have switched to just refunding the amazon balance. A few times on returns it has unexpectedly asked me to box the item and print a label, not sure if this was related to choosing refund the original form of payment or a seller/item issue. I would wager this probably deters some from returning an item though.

Appreciate the response Lou. Man you didn’t make my decision any easier though. Lol. I just returned a Paragon to them too would feel kinda messed up to send the Synthesis back as well. Seems bulk and weight wise they are nearly the same then, outside of the rounded edges of the TineeOwl which I like. Arghh

I might have to pass on it. The whole point of getting another case and swapping between my TineeOwl was to have a lighter and slimmer option. It’s a bummer because the Synthesis looks so much lighter. I didn’t even realize it was that heavy when I was dying for the black color to return 🤣🤣🤣

They shouldn't charge you if they sent out a returned item to begin with. I'm sure they have way top track what they sent you - they track everything else! I'm so sick of getting used items from Amazon 😡

Their brown paper bag policy of shipping gets me ticked off too. For some small items that won't get damaged, I understand, but when it's a breakable / crushable item, it's not acceptable.

We once received light bulbs that has "not working" written in marker on the packaging! Seriously? C'mon Amazon...

Edit: spelling
