Guys, still debating on buying the Paragon precise Azurite for the iPhone 17 pro... I currently got the Sheath.

Mobilereviewseh-guy says he prefers it over the Sheath although the drop protection isn't as good.

My question: does the paragon in hand feels 'slimmer' than the Sheath. Some say it's bulkier because the lip at the bottom is more protrusive...

Others say the paragon is more comfortable to hold because of the shape (almost no lip in the middle)...

What do you guys think?

It’s slimmer 100%

Def feels slimmer than the Sheath in the hand. Feeling more comfortable is subjective. For me the Sheath is def more comfortable because of the all around same texture. YMMV.

To expand on my point, I think the Paragon feels 'slimmer' in terms of raw dimensions, but it doesn't feel like a natural extension of the phone. Because of the materials used, it feels like an 'added accessory’, something separate that you’ve attached to the device.

In contrast, the Sheath feels much more cohesive. Much like Apple’s own TW or silicone cases, the Sheath manages to conform to the phone’s shape in a way that feels unified. It doesn't have those material transitions, it feels like it’s part of the phone’s design.

IMO the TW is the king of minimalist utility. It’s excellent for preventing daily wear, like light scuffs or minor dings.

In a way, I view the Sheath as 'TW 2.0.' It captures that same feeling of a cohesive, integrated design that Apple’s own cases have, where the material and form factor feel like a natural extension of the phone rather than an added accessory. The difference is that it actually adds a layer of drop protection that the TW doesn’t.

I also have both the Sheath and the Paragon and prefer the Paragon. It feels like a smooth palm stone, very comfortable to hold. Feels very minimalistic (in comparison to most of my other over 25 cases here).

Here’s some specs. Like I said the Paragon feels slimmer than the Sheath because it is with a “but”… from my recent comment.

Sheath
153.6 x 75.9 x 13
44g

Apple silicone
154.4 x 76.5 x 12.1
30g

Paragon
153.5 x 75.3 x 13.0(top/bottom lip) x 11.8(middle lip)
42g

TJ Maxx never has 17 PRO cases.

Looking through my collection for an open pleateau case to help my phone deal with the brutal heat here in Germany right now, I discovered I only returned the white version of the Benks Mist case I bought back in September and not the black.😂 I had discarded the case in the unused pile because of the metal ring around the camera plateau and it was still sealed in its package. Lo and behold, this is actually a pretty great case! Rubbery feeling TPU and frosted back plate, clicky metal buttons, raised lip on the front and an absolute perfect fit that follows the iPhones curves. For 18,99 on Amazon right now, absolutely worth the money. (The white version is somehow not available anymore)

I know what you mean. I work outside and inside my work truck, the temperature can reach up to 10 degrees hotter than it is outside, which has caused my 17PM once to shut down due to overheating and I had to put it into my cooler to cool it down and turn it back on.

Another one for the collection!

I’d love to know your rankings of all the cases you’ve tried since you’ve tried quite a bunch
I know in previous posts Ive mentioned couple of cases in a particular order etc etc but in reality I just go with the flow.

Every case I have has it’s own unique selling point so I just pick what’s required on the day.

It wont be fair to put them in numerical order.

My cases have feelings you know 😜.

People in my circle both in and out of work don’t care about cases lol. Most of them just pick cheapest option available and run that or a standard Apple case.
Yup, whatever was on a peg at the retailer where they bought the phone. One and done for the year.

My brother bought an Otterbox at the Verizon store that fell apart in a few months. He was going to buy the same case as a replacement and I advised him to buy a Phone Rebel instead. He said it was too expensive and ended up with a $15 no name case from Amazon. He’s happy as a clam. 🙄

BTW, he thinks I’m nuts with all of these case shenanigans, which is not unreasonable.

Same, people I know and work with when they get their phone from the carrier store or Apple get a case from there. They don’t care. If they need another case they will get a cheap one from Amazon.
