Course they would have done but I bet a lot of people wouldn’t even bat an eyelid or know they’re fakes and think they’ve got a bargain.
Exactly. You don't necessarily notice it if you don't have comparison cases right in front of you and don't look too closely. I don't even want to know how many people are walking around with fake cases… And: not all bargains are fakes. I bought an Apple case on eBay for 29 euros, and that is definitely NOT a fake. Got lucky. But it's always a risk.

I don't mind it's look, interested to see what the case makers can do with it.

I've flip-flopped multiple times on getting one or not. Currently I'm in the getting one camp.
It's got me looking at a separate camera which is another rabbit hole. If I got the Ultra I'm looking at getting an OM-5 MkII as well.

I just think it'll be a nice change and can always sell and get 18 Pro Max later on if I don't get on with it.

Is it just me or is that iPhone Ultra Butt Ugly or what?

I have zero interest in the Ultra. I've tried the Samsung Folds and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold before and while that bigger inner screen can be really nice, the constant worry about inner screen issues just isn't worth it.

You've got to worry about something getting in there when they're folded and causing an indent in the soft screen. You've got to worry about the pre-installed screen protector beginning to separate at the edges of the fold in front of the hinge and letting dust underneath. And the cameras are never as good as their candy bar siblings.

And since we're in the case thread, if you thought cases for the 17 Series iPhones were hit-and-miss over the last year, just wait until you see how they are for foldables. Most are held on with double-sided tape, especially if you want something thin like a carbon fiber case.

If I'm going for a non-traditional phone, I much prefer the "flip" style over the folding style. You still get a 7" screen when open, but a much lighter and more compact body when closed.
