this is getting silly now.
Forget the 17, what about the 18? the 19?

I am sick of these gargantuan iPhones. Please Apple, design a line of slimmer models dubbed “iPhone Air” for those of us who don’t want a brick in our pockets.

Yes, this rumor is pretty strange NGL, but what many would love would be a slightly smaller base iPhone. A 5.9” iPhone 17 would be enough for me, I think. Still a bit bigger that my hand can comfortably handle, but doable.

If all iPhones are getting promotion in a few years, this is a clever way to reuse panels from the pro series than can be re-allocated for the standard models while using new tech like MLAOLED for the pro series iPhones!!!

Calling it nonsense seems… exaggerated? Any random company sells 1 million models. Apple, one of the largest phone makers (largest by far in phone revenue), sells only 2 (with 2 size variants) models + SE. You answered yourself, ”Let’s be honest, the non Pro iPhones only exist for upselling purposes and because it would be ridiculous to have the first model start at 1k+”, obviously! But what’s the alternative? It’s much more impressive that they only sell 4-5 models now than the fact that they sold only 1 when they were tiny in the phone market.
For all those complaining about iPhone 17 stories, please check the name of this site again. A rumor came out and MacRumors reported on it.
Now, of course we have to see if these rumors will pan out. But if - I repeat if - Apple simply cripples the iPhone Plus in a cynical bid to “differentiate” it from the Pro, then I will have already purchased my last iPhone.

Same tactics for the Airpods Max 2. Nerf the current one to bits then restore it with Airpods Max 2 and claim a XXX improvement forcing upgrades.

That seems like a good reason to make it even less attractive.

Then I read they run lagdroid so that’s an automatic no.
iPhone 29 will be the last iPhone which need to be charged. Battery will last for three years and you will have to pay $49 extra a month to use iPhone 30.
