I have the 17 pro max (esim version) and the battery life is still terrible a week after setting it up. 5hr SOT and 74% battery usage. Should I wait any longer or should I try and get it exchanged to see if it was just my phone?

I have a nano sim +esim version. I too felt the battery life is poor.

I force restarted the phone by volume up, down and power button, it looked ok the other day

Today it looks like it is draining fast again.

I am going to give it another day or two and then return if the battery life is not great

Don’t know if this is good or bad just wanted to give you another data point. But my Battery seems about what I expected.

I was just going to post a thread about battery life of the 17 Pro Max and I found this convenient thread. 😂

I have a sense that the battery is not lasting as long as my 14 PM did but that might just be because of iOS 26. TBH, my phone largely sits around on weekdays because I'm mostly working. On times when my 14 PM wouldn't see much use, I'd get four days from 100 percent to when it needed to be charged and I usually plugged it into the charger when it got down to around 35%. I updated to 26 on the day it was released and that dropped to a bit more than three days.

I charged my phone up to 100 percent on Friday morning and I didn't spend a lot of time on it since, though probably more time than usual because it's still new. It is currently at 25%. I am basing my idea about the battery life on how quickly it drops when I'm doing something with it. When it was at 28%, I took three pictures and cropped them a bit. By the time I got done with that, the phone had dropped from 28% to 26%. It was a total of about five minutes worth of use.

Standby mode doesn't seem too bad but when I use it, it seems to suck down the battery more than the 14 PM.

For those that are using Coconut Battery, what are you showing for the design capacity (5030mAh) and full charge capacity (5210mAh). Is not registering the battery manufacturer.

I'm not sure where I stand...

Let me say that my 17 PM's battery life is good. I can get 2 full days of use from a 100% charge. If I start with a full charge I usually end the day around 60%. I'm certainly not what you would call a "power user", but I use my phone for calls, messaging, emails, YouTube, web surfing, music, etc every day.

However, if I'm being honest, I don't feel as blown away by the battery life as I thought I would. I'm coming from a 3 year old 14 Pro Max with 85% battery health, and it used to get me about a day and a half, ending most days with around 50% from a full charge. The 17 Pro Max is a definite improvement, but I kinda feel like it's not that different than my 14 PM was when its battery was new, even though by every metric a new 17 PM should blow away a new 14 PM in battery life.

This is the battery performance am getting from a 17 Pro. Should I be concerned, is this normal?

Just casual responding to messages, browsing internet and listening to podcasts.

This is my 17PM.

Not sure if this is in line with other people, but I am running the iOS26.1 beta, so that might cause a few issues with battery life.

my launch day 17 pro max with physical sim card has its battery down to 46% after just 2.5 hours of screen active. is this a faulty battery or expected to be normal from a pro max? i have updated to 26.0.1 as well a few days ago.

The highest on the chart is with 79% of the battery used with 7 hours and 3 minutes of SOT.

Not stellar by any means compared to my ex 3 years old 14 Pro Max with 85% battery health (with iOS 18).

If we had the option to get iOS 18 on these 17 Pro Maxes.. I think the difference would be crazy.

Please do, we need more battery life threads, there just isn’t enough of them

To increase daily battery %, is it better to have Adaptive Power turned off or on?

See a few posts turning this feature off, just wanted to check before making the change

Adaptive Power will really only help if one is consistent with the time of placing the phone on the charger each day. If your charging pattern is random, there really isn't a need for the former.

Previous years my ProMax was made in August, the month before delivery. Apple was playing it safe this year, likely due to a chance of tariffs.
