If you ordered from Apple directly you wouldn't have had this issue. If they say you'll get it on X day, you'll get it.
Buying from a phone carrier isn't a great option if you can avoid it, they'll oversell to gain orders and sell contracts etc.

There's no delays for the rest of Europe/ The world. Those that pre-ordered quickly are getting their devices tomorrow.
There were even slots open for launch day collection from Apple stores until earlier when the store went offline until the morning.

What country are you in?
That is not true. I preordered Pro from Apple directly on the first day (9/12) and was supposed to receive it today via shipping but got an email that my new delivery date is now October 3-10.

We don’t know why you’re delayed, only Apple does.

The best experience has been pickup or purchase directly at and thru an Apple Store.
Using a carrier, dealer, third party retail store or delivery by a UPS / FedEx adds the potential for delay and frustration.

I have been your position. I would Check your options to purchase Directly from an Apple Store and cancel your original order. If that option is not available you will continue to be at the mercy of your tech stores and local carriers who will always blame Apple when a new product is in limited supply.

Many of us in my country (north europe) have gotten messages by our phone carriers or tech stores there is a worldwide low supply of the new iphones and the ones here who have phones to send to customers have few phones only. They expect supply to build on during October.
Not to forget there seem to be almost no stock regarding Silver pros.

What is even the meaning of "pre-order" when Apple doesn't even have phones to be distributed at release day or release week?
Have they officially addressed the issues, the why and the when? They only care about building hype 🙄
Apple is always going to prioritize having stock for their own stores and filling their own online orders. In my experience, carrier stock is always very limited. While it can be cheaper to buy through a carrier (in the short term, at least, because their contracts exist to get that money out of you in the longterm), I personally would only order directly from Apple if my priority is getting the phone as soon as possible.

Several years ago I used to order my phones through a special branch of my carrier that handled special corporate contracts that I was entitled to through my employer. They were the cheapest plans available and offered the phones heavily subsidized. Even though I pre-ordered immediately I would always get my phone several weeks after launch. The worst part was that they didn't even provide an estimated delivery time or an indication of how much stock they had or were getting. It was literally just, you place your order and be disappointed every day for 1-2 months hoping for it to appear. According to their representative when I called, they were just waiting for whatever crumbs Apple sent them each week. One week they would get 10 phones (various models). The next week only 2. That's what they had to wait on to fill dozens or even hundreds of orders.

Anyway, last phone I ever ordered from them was the iPhone 6. After that, I started buying directly from Apple.

Did you even read what I wrote? I purchased directly from the Apple Store. And yet I am getting a delay. With no explanation. From the Apple Store. My delay is not from a delivery. My phone hasn’t been shipped from Apple. The phone is not available in the physical Apple Store. It has to be shipped either to the store or to my address directly.

We all read what you wrote about carriers and tech stores and how that’s Apples problem because you got a long date.

It’s just a phone not the end of the world

You are quite confused there. I spoke solely about Apple Store experience.
