It's definitely an issue with ATT provisioning MMS and media net on Iphones. After a million and a half failed attempts at having customer care provision this i fixed it myself. Just stayed a little longer at work, changed my IMEI to a blackberry and added all the blackberry features, put my sim in a Bold and it mms still did not work. I called customer care, they saw that mms and media net was not provisioned on my "bold" so they fixed it (saw the note on my account that it had to be provisioned in snooper.)

After having this fixed I just changed my IMEI back to an Iphone 3g and now MMS works perfect! I can send/ receive no problem, have restarted it numerous times and it still works great!

Moral of story, wow its a pain in the ass to get this to work, but very rewarding!

How long did this last for?

My voicemail was broken after applying the file hosted on mediashare in this thread. I unzipped and changed this voicemail_context to 2 in carrier.plist to get voicemail working again. It was previously set to 1. Visual Voicemail now works.

I still haven't gotten ATT to enable my MMS though.

I tried this but my voicemails still don't show up in visual voicemail. Can you share your fixed file? Thanks

*EDIT* Nevermind, I got it to work by restoring 3.0 again and using my modified ATT_US file again.

So far so good, mms still works

thats strange, i have an LG shine registered as my IMEI..and also have family unlimited messaging and an unlimited media net plan..BUT im using an iphone..which works fine..if you read my post earlier..i pretty much did the same exact thing you did..and i tested MMS out on an LG shine..worked okay..popped the sim back into my iphone, MMS worked for about 15 minutes..then stopped again..seems as though the network "detected" that i was using a different phone

HMMM... still doesnt seem to work for me. So all you did was open up the carrier plst change that one item to two. load up the ipcc file and then do a restore?

EDIT!!!! Sweet! did a couple restores and now its all working!!! no mms though.. i can live without for now

i've talked to 6 AT&T folks tonight. 2 tech support, and 4 cust reps.

I've had them add the 1500 and unlimited regular texting plans.

I've added the family unlimited myself.

I've had them add MMS pay as you go.

I've even had a couple 'provision me for send/receive MMS'

None of it has worked. I still get the 403 / unauthorized message.

I spoke with a level 3 tech who told me they were 'not allowed' to provision for MMS on the iPhone - even though the service was available in the beta software.

I'm not sure what else needs to be done - none of the things suggested have worked on my account and it's not the .ipcc file - I see it connecting and sending, but AT&T is kicking back the 403 error.

I was straightforward with them - told them I was a developer and needed access for the new software - still nothing.

This is fairly annoying.

Rapidshare link is down

Could you please re upload it to rapidshare? It says you don't have a premium account, and that the 5 download max has been reached.

Otherwise, could you please email it to me? I'll post it to my MobileMe web gallery for everyone to download...

Thanks!

spoke with a different level 2 tech this morning who assured me that I had WAP provisioning enabled.

Still getting the 403 error. Going to try removing my sim card and turning it off, on, and then restarting with the sim.

has anyone had MMS working stable for over a day? And why wouldn't AT&T want us beta testers making sure this works properly so we do not have a problem on launch day like all the problems last july with activation.

I tried putting my SIM in an old phone, wait a long time, "surfed" Media Net, tried to go that Media Net setup page, but said I needed javascript.

Left it overnight and still could not send SMS from this other phone. I have a family text plan and I never get those SMS to "viewmypics" so I think I should be setup right.

If this was a feature I cared at all about I would probably keep trying, but at this point I just don't care enough. Only thing I will do is call ATT every couple days and see what they say. Good luck to everyone!

AT&T insisted that i have the right setting on my acct but no luck I will keep trying. The tech support guy didnt know that 3.0 was out but his supervisor knew exactly what to do made sure my carrier settings and modem firmware were correct too.

yeah i keep getting the 403 error. I hope they can get it worked out soon. You think they would have this figured out by now.

^same here! wonder if it works..

edit: i dont think it does..

I have it too, and works for me. I'm posting this on my MacBook, running on the connection from my iPhone via Bluetooth.

But MMS doesn't work for me either, after several reboots, SIM reinstallments, and Airplane-Mode switches. And I have the family unlimited texting plan.
