iPhone iphone 3g help

hi, I tried o2-uk, orange, t-mobile-uk, and vodafone-uk,
I get a message each time I press each one of the carriers saying :

"your selected mobile range is restricted, you can choose a different network in settings"

I have tried each one but still get the same message.

The only one that shows up in the top left is 02-uk, my sim card is o2 uk so that makes sense, but I am still getting no signal bars??

Thanks for being patient with me, I just want to get to the bottom of this, it just seems strange that it is unlocked but shows that message saying it is restricted each time I click one of the carriers manually?

Hi i have iphone 3g 4.1, and when i was using it the app keeps on closing and then i decided to update it to 4.2 by itunes. And then when its updating it occured error 1015, i tried to restore it but still error. HELP!!!!!

Put iphone in DFU-mode and restore in itunes, it should restore to 4.2.1 which is the final release for the 3G

Make sure host file points to Apple, not Cydia for 4.2.1 restore.
Choose set up as new, do not restore to any backup so you can get a good, clean restore to hopefully fix your issue.
