I wonder...

It's conceivable to me that we might see a schedule next year very much like the one this year: iPad in the spring, iPhone in summer, iPods in fall. Software updates sprinkled around to keep the story fresh for each product line.

Desktop computers? Laptops? Who cares? :p

In one of Steve's recent guerrilla emails, he said that there will be a major Final Cut Studio release by the end of the year, but that has nothing to do with the holidays. My guess is that if the release was ready, they'd have shown it at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in April, which is where they've rolled that stuff out before.

The one part of the calendar that we KNOW is that there won't be any major January releases coming out of MacWorld. Maybe some new Nanos. But it's looking to me that releases will spread across the year, keeping something major in every quarter EXCEPT for Q4. That one will take care of itself.

In general, though, there's little history of major hardware refreshes less than a year apart.

And frankly, if you want to wait for anything, you might wait for this generation's price to drop waaaay down in anticipation of the new one...but seriously, buy the iPad now, enjoy the new software update late summer/early fall.

iPhone grab it ....still tremendous Android alternatives out there and indeed in some ways better but if you love Mac you will love iPhone 4. iPad for me is a different matter as I type on my 32GB 3G iPad. At present an over rated and expensive large iPod Touch which is extremely limited in terms of what it could be and hopefully iPad OS4 will address much of that need like the ability to natively print rather than emailing to your home PC for example. For now iPad is another Steve Jobs beta product release program to avoid unless you have money to waste.

I agree. Also, if we see two cameras on the next iPod Touch then i think we can expect the iPad to get at least the front facing one.

A rear camera would allow the iPad which can hold more, to be a very powerful video camera and on spot digital studio wouldn't it? I would really love it if Apple would go ahead and just add this to next iPad. Would be a photographer and videographer's dream product.

I got a 64Gb Ipad 3G...Flawless! Get it while you can. If you would have gotten it early you would have gotten the truly unlimited 3G data plan.

Anyways I will have an Iphone 4 on release day....and and If the Ipad 2 has an awesome camera I will get that too.

Lets give them some time...maybe they can get a 8 megapixel camera on it! But the Iphone 4 5 mega pixel camera would be awesome. Maybe they will give us a 1.3 or 2mp front camera on the ipad 2. Anyway. I am gonna buy it. The ipad is already good as it is. Just make Imovie on it please!
