Like others, I voted yes but feel that "bothers" might be a little strong for my reaction.

I definitely notice it. The difference in text quality is marked, and I would, of course, prefer an Ipad with greater pixel density. But am I willing to pay the price premium for the added clarity? Depends on the price, I guess. Considering how much I use my iPad and the amount text I read in a given day, I would (have) shell(ed) out an extra $100 for it. Much more than that, and I'd probably pass.

I will say that the current text quality will probably discourage me from buying/reading too many ebooks on the iPad, whereas I think I could happily transition solely to to ebooks on the retina display.
 
1) I view the iPhone from 1/3rd the distance I do my iPad,
2) the thing that makes the iPad remarkable is the battery life, use it all day without worry about a charge. Doubt it would with a retina display the size of an iPad
3) the iPad would be too expensive to actually use where I use it now.
