My son's first new iPhone was the SE 2016 and he was using that until we got him the SE 2020 last year.

That first SE had a lot of staying power. Had two of them in the household for some time: mine for six years and my wife's for five. And really, they would have gone longer, too, had we chosen to.

My son's kind of funny. I can't always tell what he's thinking and he's not a complete clone of me. :)

Anyway, I took him to get the phone on his birthday (a year after the SE 2016 launched). He could have had a 128GB phone if he'd been willing to wait a day or two for them to ship it. For me, that would have been the option I chose. All they had in store was 64GB. But I guess he wanted it right then.

So when I upgraded him (he was unaware I was doing it) I got him the 256GB for the 2020 SE. I'm thinking, okay he's just going to hand me back the old SE. No…he wanted to keep it. I know what I do with my old phones, but no idea what he does with his. I know he uses it though because it's still riding our home WiFi. He is like me though in that he doesn't use cases but takes care of his stuff so the phone is still in good condition.

Great little phones the SEs. We got my daughter a 64GB SE 2020 a few months back as well.

Now that I'm thinking about this, I should ask him how the battery is.
