can't say until I hold it

I loved my 1st gen iphone better than the 3g and 3gs...but once I got used to it...had no complaints. So i dont want to make a decision even before I get to play with it for a few mins.

Hoping the design is there for a reason.

I like the design of the alleged 4g iPhone, to each his own. Some love it some hate it. Thanks for creating this Poll.

I agree, but I will buy one, because it houses the iPhone OS with the latest hardware goodies.

*EDIT* the more I look at it, the more I like it. Very Braun/Dieter Rams-esque. It's no secret that Ives, and most other industrial designers, are big Rams fans.

2005 iMac anyone?

Thank god someone made another poll.

What we really need is a poll to see which poll people prefer.

I think it looks way less dated than the current body. Anyone into design can see the timelessness in this design.

Back to principles of design. Balance, unity, and basic shapes.

you'll buy it anyways

Yes I will lol, I'll put a case on it and I wont see those ugly seems. all three of them (1 apparently is just for looks.)

Really the rest looks fine. The micro sim being on the side is awkward.

The volume buttons being two circles are also different, in a bad kind of way to me.

I like that they have returned to a design that uses more metal. Always a plus.

The front camera + the rear flash + larger screen resolution, Id buy it in a heart beat.

Looks like crap to me and the screen is.....SMALLER?!?!

Yeah, but by a miniscule ammount. I didn't even think it looked smaller until Gizmodo said so. And now that I know that, it still looks like the same size to me. Clearly Apple wouldn't of made the screen any smaller if it affected anything.

Up to this point I did not notice how much thinner the rumored phone is. I'm really loving the new thinness.

It looks about 2.0-2.4mm thinner. (I give the range for error because The photos are not right on. It looks like the top of the new iPhone just meets the bottom of the metal bezel on the current iPhone. And the metal bezal on the current iPhone is 2.4mm

The current iPhone is 12.3mm thick

The current iPod Touch is 8.5mm thick

The first gen iPhone 11.6mm, (wait the first was thinner than the 3g?)(according to Wikipedia)

12.3-~2.3=1cm thick new iPhone.

What is something that is 1cm thick for good comparison?

How about another option do we need another 4G iPhone thread when theres 4 allready in the news section...

i like it, i think it looks cool.
but i also think the original iphone looks cooler than the plastic back ones.
this kindof just looks like the original iphone "4 years later."

Apple needs to round the edges around the screen and back of the phone. Keep the flat back design, but give it some curves and make it look like more of a unibody construction.

I personally like the tapered edges of the 3GS. I thin overall it looks a bit sleeker than these leaked photos. It'll be interesting to see the final design. Obviously the guts and features are most important to me. If it was just based on aesthetics though I'd go with the 3GS

Black Aluminum

If the new iPhone does look like these leaked pics, I hope they release one with a black aluminum edge, a la the iPod Shuffles
