Yeah but video-share doesn't upload AND download video at the same time. One user uploads and the other downloads in Video-Share.

I personally feel its too early to implement this as it would require a 2-camera device, which would add bulk to the iPhone size (seeing as how Steve is obsessed with thinness).

I mean - how sure were we when we even saw physical hardware evidence of a camera on the iPod touches? I feel lots of stuff is just in the SDK but may not be implemented anytime soon (kind of like Apple's crazy patents).

Obsessed with thinness? He will find a way.

Lol, they said the 3GS would have video chat. Yeah Yeah Yeah. I'll believe it when I see it. Rumors...rumors..rumors...

They also said the same about the 3G. This is the third time 9to5mac has said "the next iPhone" will get videoconferencing. I'll believe it when I see it.

This is all true,
but at least this time there is an actual reason for predicting the arrival of video chat, in the form of software hooks. On previous occasions it was all wish thinking.

C.

I really doubt we'd get it. Especially us Americans on AT&T. That network can't handle phone calls and people expect it to handle video-chatting (which requires uploading video and downloading it at the same time very quickly without lag).

Haha, if they did incorporate it, AT&T would charge an extra $100 a month just to use it. Imagine how much you would be paying if you went over your video conferencing limit lol.

they may put it in they may not they do many tests build many proto-types and lets hope they look at this forum so it up to them not us all we can do is hope :D

Why does video chatt seem like such anew high-tech feature, I remember back in 2003, that was the way you could tell if a phone had 3g (while it's not the HSDPA that you americans refer to as 3g, as we call that turbo-3g), there was a front facing camera on it for video-chat.

The picture quality was okay, but noone hardly used it becasue the service providers charged so much for it, but it was there and it worked on UMTS, which had a theoretical speed of 384 kbit/s if i'm not mistaken, so I don't see much reason why ATT can't implement it
